About this property
Mill House at Ormidale House
Welcome to Mill House. Designed for big groups who want space to spread out yet enjoy unforgettable moments together, it offers the perfect setting for celebrations, multi-family holidays, reunions, and milestone events. From its dramatic open-plan living areas to its peaceful riverside gardens and indulgent hot tub, Mill House is the kind of place where memories are made the moment you step inside.
At its heart lies a spectacular 75m2 open-plan reception and living area—a soaring, double-height space that blends a contemporary kitchen, elegant dining area, and generous lounge. It's a wonderful social space, that once hosted a wedding ceremony for 125 people – so it swallows people when it needs to!!
In addition to the main socialising space, two additional reception rooms each open through French doors onto the private gardens that sweep down to the river. Children have their own dedicated playroom just behind the living area, with two sofas and full Sky TV—perfect for downtime or movie nights. On the mezzanine level above the kitchen, a charming smaller lounge with seating for five leads out to a suntrap patio complete with BBQ, original bench seating, and a seven-person hot tub overlooking enchanting woodland and forest scenery.
Upstairs, there are nine bedrooms altogether, each offering double, twin or triple accommodation, and three large bathrooms each with shower and bath. Six of the bedrooms have a private wash-hand basin. The house occupancy is usually set at 14 adults and an additional 8 children, but there is flexibility around that.
There is plenty to keep adults, teenagers, and children active on the estate, including a tennis court, a football pitch, a sunken trampoline, a range of bicycles, a games cottage with table tennis, pool table and dart boards - and acres of woodland to explore. The estate sits less than a mile from the top of Loch Riddon in the Kyles of Bute, surrounded by scenery suited to walking, cycling, swimming, sailing, fishing, riding, stalking, and golf.
The Mill has its own dedicated broadband service.
There is plenty to keep adults, teenagers, and children active on the 22 acres estate, including a tennis court, a football pitch, a sunken trampoline, a range of bicycles, and acres of woodland to explore. The estate sits less than a mile from the top of Loch Riddon in the Kyles of Bute, surrounded by year-round gorgeous scenery and a perfect base for walking, cycling, swimming, sailing, fishing, riding, stalking, and golf. A huge variety of birdlife, red squirrels and deer are amongst your fellow residents, and the night skies are utterly spectacular.
Ormidale, in Glendaruel on the Cowal peninsula, is a stunningly beautiful coastal area with wooded hills, beaches, lochs, islands and open countryside. The location is perfect for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities or just exploring the wild natural landscape, but still gives easy access to the nearby historic towns of Dunoon, Rothesay, and Inverary. Loch Lomond is a stunning 35 minute drive away. The adjacent village of Colintraive provides quick ferry access to the Isle of Bute, while the ferries from Portavadie will take you across to Tarbert, the Mull of Kintyre, Campbeltown and the islands beyond.
