Designed for couples or solo travellers seeking peace, comfort, and natural beauty, the lodge combines contemporary style with rustic charm. The spacious bedroom offers a relaxing atmosphere with soft lighting and plush furnishings, creating a perfect space to unwind after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. The modern bathroom features a spacious shower with a rainfall shower head, providing a touch of indulgence and a spa-like experience.
The open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area form the heart of the lodge. Large patio doors flood the space with natural light and open out onto a private decking area, where guests can enjoy stunning panoramic views of rolling fields and distant hills. From here, it’s common to see cows, sheep, and even a few free-roaming chickens, a true taste of Highland rural life. On the decking, the private hot tub is the perfect place to relax under the stars, soaking in the peaceful sounds of the countryside, if sitting enjoying the scenery you can hear the river that flows to the side of the lodge. Inside, the fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy, while the living area offers a comfortable spot to enjoy a quiet evening in front of the TV or with a good book. There is air conditioning in the openplan area which covers the whole of the lodge.
Locally, Duror and the surrounding Appin area offer a wealth of activities. You can take leisurely walks along forest trails or visit nearby Castle Stalker for photos, it is one of Scotland’s most photographed castles, set dramatically on a tidal islet. There is a cycle route very closeby that can take you either to Fort William or south to Oban. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy spotting red deer, otters, and eagles along the shores of Loch Linnhe. You can walk to Cuil Bay, the nearest beach and enjoy wild swimming, kayaking or canoeing there.
A little further afield, Fort William the “Outdoor Capital of the UK” offers hiking, climbing, and access to Ben Nevis. The town of Oban, known as the “Gateway to the Isles,” is perfect for seafood dining, harbour walks, and ferry trips over to Mull and other islands.
