About this property

1 Bed in Lowick (oc-gd1892)

Dingley Dell is a delightful, warm, and cosy cottage which is situated just behind the main street in the village of Lowick. Dating back to 1745, the cottage has been beautifully refurbished and offers all accommodation at ground floor level. A newly installed fitted kitchen leads through to the tastefully presented lounge and dining area with vaulted ceiling and feature fireplace. The light and spacious bedroom has a super-king bed. After a day of exploring, unwind with a refreshing shower in the spacious walk-in shower, then settle down with an evening drink in the charming courtyard garden, where pretty lights and comfortable outdoor furniture create a peaceful and private setting.

Lowick is ideally placed only ten minutes' drive from the dramatic Northumbrian coastline and the Causeway at Holy Island, subject to safe Holy Island crossing times, where you can trace the roots of Christianity in Britain. Close at hand are the villages of Ford and Etal with quaint cottages, working water mill, light railway. Just half an hour away is Alnwick, home to The Duke of Northumberland at Alnwick Castle and the magnificent Alnwick Garden. Boat trips to the Farne Islands daily (weather permitting) from Seahouses. Just 15 minutes northwards is the historic town of Berwick Upon Tweed with its famous vistas, castle walls and salmon fishing.
