About this property
3 Bed in Pickering (oc-t33630)
This characterful cottage is ideal for families or friends seeking a restful and relaxing holiday. It's also an easy drive from the North York Moors and Yorkshire coastline. Pickering itself has a wealth of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, a museum and a castle that you can explore from your doorstep. For outdoor adventures, escape to Dalby Forest, 12 miles away, where you can spend the day discovering walking, mountain biking, and running trails and admiring the breathtaking views. The popular seaside town of Scarborough is only 18.5 miles away and is your gateway to the scenic Yorkshire coastline. Bring your buckets and spades, and your water sports gear, to enjoy the long stretches of sandy beaches. Alternatively, explore the picturesque villages and market towns of Malton, Thornton-le-Dale, and Helmsley, all within 15 miles.
This is a delightful three-storey stone property that has been beautifully decorated to retain much of its original character. The thoughtful touches in the decor and furnishings, along with plenty of creature comforts and calm hues, make for a truly relaxing stay. Step from the side street into the cottage, and you enter an attractive kitchen/diner with a lovely exposed wooden beam sitting effortlessly beside all the necessary contemporary appliances for rustling up tasty treats during your stay. Eat together in the dining area and plan your next day of Yorkshire adventures. Head through to the lounge space, full of charm with an ornamental feature fireplace and beamed ceiling. The lounge is the heart of the retreat, perfect for gathering together to unwind on comfortable sofas, chat or watch a movie on the Smart TV. Head upstairs to the first floor, where you’ll find a sleek, contemporary family bathroom and two of the bedrooms. The first is a spacious king-size bedroom with wood-panelled walls and handy USB charging ports. The second bedroom is a double with a built-in wardrobe providing plenty of storage space. On the top floor is a cosy twin bedroom, ideal for children, built into the eaves, which makes it a characterful space with some areas of restricted head height.
Outside, the cottage offers an inviting rear patio area with an outdoor garden table and chairs, making a lovely space for afternoon tea or evening meals outside in fine weather. Parking is available, subject to availability.
