The castle is now open year-round, and it plays host to a wide variety of events, such as festivals celebrating food, art, literature, and more. Located directly on the riverbank, below the castle, Millenium Green features a large public green and weir as well as high-quality indoor and outdoor dining options at the Green Cafe. The town of Ludlow has been hosting street markets since the 12th century. A weekly outdoor market is held in the town square on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays all year round. The 'Local to Ludlow' produce market on some Thursdays and an Antique & Flea market on some Sundays feature more than forty stalls selling a variety of goods, such as fresh produce, cheeses, books, and a selection of local crafts.
