This wonderful, single-storey barn conversion is the ideal holiday home for a couple looking to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District. Being well located in the peaceful Eden Valley means there are plenty of walks to enjoy including around Lacy’s Caves (8 miles). Make sure you visit ‘Long Meg and Her Daughters’, a Bronze Age stone circle, as well as Aira Force waterfall (16.5 miles), which are two of the most breathtaking wonders in the area. Take tranquil walks along the River Eden; the best ones can be found between Lazonby (5 miles) and Salkeld (7 miles) and there are plenty of pubs and cafes to visit along the way. There are lots of cycling opportunities along quiet country roads and for the more experienced cyclist, the Lakes and Dales Loop through Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and West Cumbria is a must.
The entrance to this property is accessed via two steps from the courtyard. As you enter the property, you will find yourself in the bright and spacious kitchen/diner that’s been well appointed with everything you might need for your self-catering stay. Next door to the kitchen/diner, you will find a generous lounge area with comfortable sofas, a TV and a warming wood burner, making the perfect place to curl up in front of the fire after an exciting day out exploring the North Pennines. This property is conveniently set out across one level, with a wonderful king-size bedroom and bathroom completing the ground floor.
On a nice day, open up the stable-style front door and enjoy a fresh breeze or step out onto the shared enclosed courtyard and sit out with your morning coffee to devour a good book in the warmth of this wonderful suntrap. The village location is very quiet, with the main daily soundtrack consisting of birdsong, the odd tractor and an occasional passing herd of cows or sheep!
