Nestled on 2 acres with a beautiful 100 acre private lake and walking distance to Sawnee Mountain Preserve rests AR Retreat. Enjoy a variety of sports - fishing, kayaking, basketball as well as a quick 5 minute walk to Sawnee Mountain Preserve where you can hike the mountain, challenge yourself with ropes course. There are over 21 trails within a 5-10 mile radius that will keep you, your family, and friends occuppied for days in nature. A short drive north and you hit the North GA Mountains, fantastic waterfalls, rocks slides, shops and more! A short drive south and you have access to all things Atlanta, both metro and urban! There is a list of amazing experiences awaiting you within miles and even more beyond that.

However you don't have to leave the estate either as getting away from it all can be just that at theRETREAT! This home features master on main with finished basement with custom built bar, pool table, TV and plenty of space for intimate dinner and or family gathering. The main living space can be converted into a corporate meeting room or an intimate night for 2 around the fireplace. The views of our privately owned 100-acre lake can be seen from every room on the main floor with wide spanning windows that will allow you to be in the calm of the nature that surrounds the home. We have geese, ducks visit each morning and eve and throughout the day you will see our resident snowy white egrets and gray heron. Take the kayaks out exploring Twin Lakes or load them up and take them to nearby Lake Lanier or just 20 minutes north to drop in and enjoy a trip down the Chattahoochee! Enjoy fishing, kayaking or just relaxing near the water.

If you are lucky, it will rain during your visit and the main deck is our favorite spot to enjoy then! Watch a Netflix marathon, the game, and listen to the rain fall, protected and still a part of nature. You can even hang out in the hot tub and enjoy coffee in the morning to wine at night and never choose to leave the property!

Evenings bring wood fires in our firepits, smores or just relaxing with a good glass of wine and enjoying the beautiful and brilliant night sky where stars are endless! It is truly a get away spot for which you will want to pack your walking shoes and bathing suits!

Great house

The house was great! The lake wasn’t the best for swimming, lots of weeds and muddy, but was great for kayaking and fishing! Very accommodating host!

Wonderful vacation

Our family had a great time at this home. It is located close to many trails and to Lake Lannier. The house is beautiful inside and out and has plenty of room for large families or gatherings. The owners were very communicative if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent getaway

The place was better than described. We were a group of 8 and had a lovely time. Jauxniece was very responsive and at times went out of her way to help us and make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Family gathering

We fished from the canoes, sat on the porch and watched storms and squirrels and egrets, hiked a nearby nature trail, played games around the dining table, played pool and really relaxed and enjoyed each other. This is a great place. The host was very accommodating and friendly.

Beautiful home

Great experience. The house was lovely and the property was perfect for our combined families. Plenty for the children to do and a short drive to town. The owner was responsive and kind. The house was well appointed. We will definitely stay there again!

Beautiful Relaxing Setting

We enjoyed fishing in the lake and especially kayaking. Very relaxing and private area. It is a comfortable home and spacious bedrooms. Our family enjoyed the weekend getaway. The property manager was wonderful and great with communication. Home offers everything you would need for a recreational weekend!

Family wedding

This Cummings rental home was wonderful and perfect! We came together for my niece’s wedding. We had family traveling from Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and Michigan. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and there was plenty of bathrooms to accommodate all of us. We gathered around the fire pit every night, used the hot tub, fished and kayaked,ate meals all together in the spacious kitchen/dining area and enjoyed every moment together. Jauxniece was a wonderful host, responding to any questions we had and checking in to make sure everything was going well for us. I highly recommend this Vrbo to anyone looking for a large place to gather with friends and/or family! It was perfect and filled us with wonderful memories!

Very unique and nice home!

We had a great stay in very nicely set up home. Lots of stuff to do but also very relaxing. There are homes near by but very private and rarely saw anyone. I would definitely rent again if we are back in Atlanta for travel ball or a Braves game. The only negative I could find was the cornhole bags were bad and one was missing. There was also one broken kayak paddle.

Vow Renewal

This is a lovely property with beautiful views of the lake. The house literally has a lake in the backyard and it was awesome. We stayed for 4 days for our very intimate vow renewal ceremony. We absolutely enjoyed every minute that we were there. We have nothing but good things to say about this property. The only thing I didn’t like was the spider webs and spiders. I’m not a spider person at all. Other than that, everything was great.

Friends Reunion

The property was exceptional. Home felt very welcoming. This home had plenty of room. All of us had an amazing time. The surrounding neighborhood was very quiet. It was relaxing to either sit on the patio or the deck to enjoy the views of the lake, it's wildlife, and the piece and quiet. Just about every night we sat around the fire pit to socialize and enjoy the stars. Outside the home, the local town has many offerings - Entertaining. Lake Lanier is only 12 miles away, offering a larger lake to enjoy boating or wave runners. Would highly recommend.

Family Fun !

So much to do here, special place. We fished everyday in the lake. Everyone caught fish. Cooking and eating was easy. The hot tub was great, cornhole in the front yard, pool at night downstairs. Plenty within 10 min drive; food, coffee, gas, meat market, dining, bait store. Unfortunately Mother Nature got in the way with awful Tstorms that knocked out the power for 36 hours. Owner was in constant contact with us during this mini crisis, purchased generator and fans to try and help out, couldn’t have asked for more. We had a great stay minus this uncontrollable hiccup that nobody could have prevented! Highly recommended!

Relaxing Family Time!

We had a fun and relaxing week vacation. The backyard view from the patio on the main floor is my favorite spot. Amenities were just as stated. The house was clean, the kitchen is spacious, I would recommend a new can opener and a better blender. We enjoyed the Pool Table but the Pool cues need tips. We ventured in the kayaks, I would of liked 2 life jackets. The ping pong table needs new paddles and the basketball needed some air. Regardless, of these few details we had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Hope to return next year.

Lake Love

My friend described our stay perfectly when she said “it is as if our best friend let us use her lake house for the weekend”. This property is private and so peaceful. The house is beautifully decorated and the beds are divine. I felt so comfortable there that I had to remind myself that I was, at some point, leaving. There are so many neat things nearby-a quick walk up the road takes you to Swanee trails and a great walking path. We picked up breakfast at Guy’s Biscuit Barn, a unique and yummy experience. Groceries, restaurants are all nearby. The host is very responsive and kind. The lake is small and private but good for fishing, it seems. We didn’t get to take the kayaks out but it was fun that they were available. We woke so early and did so much we were too tired to stay up long enough to use the fire pits (there were two). We were in town to spend time with friends and family and this was a great place to do so. The bedrooms were split, one downstairs with a en-suite bath and three upstairs with a shared bath. As we were two couples we each had our own floor for sleeping, very nice. We really enjoyed our stay.

Contact owner before booking - disappointed

The owner was easy to contact. She asked for list of items to be fixed on our departure. The hot tub/tv on back porch never worked. Some jets on one side worked. Plans for back porch party had to change. One of the main reason that I picked this property. All disappointed! In the bonus room: ceiling leak(had rain), queen bed needs cross boards to support box springs, several wasps in the room b/c of nest outside window. Grandson was afraid to sleep in the room. Dishwasher never worked. We hand washed everything for the 3 days. Positives: The house was very clean. Linens & towels well stocked. Appreciated the generator as storms were predicted.We didn't use the grills so dnk their condition. All liked the game room, kayaks, and the fire pit. Thanks for the wood! The hiking trail was very convenient-hiked on Sunday. I won't book a VRBO again unless I message the owner to confirm all amenities are working.

Great fall getaway

We had a good time at this home! Plenty of games and outdoor activities for the family, and we loved the hot tub. It was close to the mountain for a nice hike and drivable to other spots. Would just be helpful to have check-in information at the house to know how to work the TV, hot tub, etc. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful Lakehouse

Nice pleasant, quite with a beautiful lake and mountain views. Home was well equipped with lots amenities. We enjoyed fishing in the lake and relaxing in the hot tub. The home had everything we needed to prepare our meals from appliances to the grills.

What makes this property unique


We have a 2 story home with a full basement that walks out to the spacious back yard flowing into the lake and beyond. (In the winter, you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of the horses on the peninsula across the way!) Aside the main house is the Carriage House which resembles a barn venue with silk curtains, weathered metal sheeting and twinkling lights for all occasions. This space is great for workshops, weddings, yoga sessions, reunions, or anything you can imagine there. Our imaginations encourage yours to RUN WILD!

The upper and lower firepits give even more areas for congregation, as do the many fun amenities on-site including pool and foos ball tables, cornhole and yard games, ping pong and fishing poles, kayaks and our deck-level hot tub complete with the view of the lake and all the nature it brings with. The house easily sleeps 12 and there are more couches available for those extra guests. Just down the road are activities for the whole family and as mentioned, just across the street is the Sawnee Mountain Nature Preserve with miles and miles of hiking and the historic and picturesque Indian Seats which allow you to see to the mountains of North Carolina on clear day!

Weddings, retreats, reunions, large groups and small are all welcome at The Retreat at Twin Lakes w/ owner approval. We offer 100 folding white chairs, rolling spools and LARGE workshop tables that double as bars and standing tables. We have tents and decorations, serving items, signs, and the little things that you may not even think about! It's a true DIY event without having to worry about toting your items and decorations or any additional rental fees or setup. We want you to take what is usually available for events from a 9 hour booking into a full weekend event for much (IF NOT WAY LESS!!!) of the same price!
