About this property
Sweeping Vistas Of The Ocean, Beach And Russian River ~ Plus A Cute, Cozy Cabin
As you exit the Highway and enter Goat Rock State Beach, you will be treated to jaw dropping vistas. Its no wonder that this scenic road has been featured in so many commercials!! Turn off the main beach access road onto a small gravel road to reach our cabin, which we call "Sea Nest".
You will love the wrap-around windows that provide expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, white water, Goat Rock State Beach, and the Russian River and its mouth. The rugged Pacific coastline is visible for miles, and expansive natural vistas await you in every direction. You will see glimpses of the picturesque town of Jenner, framed by the majestic green hills above the town.
A large deck invites you outdoors to experience the sights and sounds of this natural wonderland. Open all the blinds and enjoy the same views from the cozy interior of the two bedroom cabin. Visits from deer, rabbits, quail, and the occasional fox in the yard below are not uncommon. Soaring birds abound. Sunsets are magnificent. On clear nights, the star-filled skies are exceptional.
The cabin abuts State Parks open space and you will feel like you have a nature reserve to yourself as you gaze out over the fields and the ocean and river. Sea Nest is one of only a handful of houses within the Goat Rock State Beach area. The views from this property are simply inspirational.
The cabin itself is cozy and cute. The interior is bright and cheery, with abundant windows and natural light. The ceilings are vaulted, and there is a wood burning stove in the center of the cabin. The kitchen, dining, and living areas share space in an open floor plan. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one bath.
Goat Rock State Beach has much to offer, all within walking distance: sandy beaches surrounded by dramatic cliffs; hiking trails; seabirds and harbor seals; and the Russian River. Amazing vistas are everywhere- from atop the cliffs, hiking along the Kortum trail, or from one of the two large beaches separated by massive Goat Rock. You may see colorful hand gliders floating peacefully over the cliffs, while surfers wait for their waves in the waters below.
Outside of the Park there is so much to explore in every direction. Take a short drive south to Bodega Bay, a quaint fishing town with shops, restaurants, and recreation areas. Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" was filmed here and in the nearby town of Bodega. Head north and you will be treated to one of the most scenic and dramatic sections of Highway One as you leave the quaint seaside village of Jenner. Visit Fort Ross State park or continue north to Gualala. Iconic Mendocino is 2.5 hours north. Or simply drive for a while and turn around- the drive itself is worth it!
Head east and explore the Russian River recreation area and the nearby towns of Jenner, Duncans Mills, Monte Rio, Occidental, and Guerneville. Start wine tasting 30 minutes away at Korbel, and explore the many wineries nearby in the Russian River wine region. Have lunch in the charming town of Healdsburg. Hike among the redwoods at Armstrong Woods State Park. Take a day trip to the world famous Napa valley. San Francisco is about 75 miles south and a little under 2 hours away.
There is so much to see and do in this part of California- you will not be bored! But if you seek rest and rejuvenation, Sea Nest is the perfect place to escape, unwind and relax! You may be inspired to write your novel.

The property is in a great location compared to places up the coast. You are within 30 minutes of a lot to do. For example, the Russian River is only about 6 miles away, with access to drive to multiple coastal beaches within minutes of the property, and close shopping for convenience. If you are an avid cook, the kitchen may leave a bit to be desired in terms of utensils, pans, etc., but if you want to make a quick breakfast or a quick bite to eat, you have plenty to work with. Otherwise, there is plenty to choose from within about a 45-minute radius, depending on how inland you want to go. Bodega Bay and Jenner have a few places very nearby. The location itself has amazing views. Bring a spotting scope or binoculars, and you will see plenty of wildlife. The host was very responsive and checked in when he hadn't heard from us due to an email glitch. We didn't know we hadn't received all of the information we needed, so that was appreciated.
Ocean and river views right from the living room in a confortable and cozy cabin created the perfect quiet getaway. And the large selection of DVDs and VHS tapes was a great way to spend the cool nights indoors.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this property. Great views from the deck, well stocked kitchen, lots of beach areas to take nice walks on. Owner very helpful with any communications.
Beautiful views of where the river meets the sea, overlooking Goat Rock Beach. Lovely home with cozy wood-burning stove, lovely, and private and well-appointed. We enjoyed our stay in this very special spot especially all of the birds and animals that we saw during our stay.
Absolutely unique property, unimaginable views one never tires from, remote yet close to everything you could want, beds perfect for a good night’s sleep, and a surprisingly expansive selection of spices if you like to cook. We’ve already recommended this home to family and friends
Very cozy, clean, lovely views. Easy driving access to beach.Really enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the ocean. Our host, David, communicated well, and invited us to make contact if we needed help. We had no problems, so we didn't contact him. However, David's instructions were good if we needed them.Would definitely stay again!!!!!
Quiet, cozy house with spectacular views! Beds very comfortable. Deer greetings in the morning. Sun, fog and radiant sunsets. Walked the beach every day and watched the harbor seals play in waves. Premises are older but comfortable. Enjoyed my respite.
Gorgeous little hideaway just by Goat Rock Beach. Beautiful views from the wraparound deck. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen and bathroom. It can get very cold once the sun sets, so use the space heaters provided, and the fireplace. I loved the peace and solitude.
This property was very clean, the kitchen has everthing you need. The views were absolutely stunning. 2 minute drive to my favorite beach. We were going to go into Guerneville, but this property is so quiet we felt there was no need to go. I can't wait for our next stay. Let me know if you ever want to sell this property. Lol ----N. Easy to check in. Beautiful view exactly as described. Awesome weather. Had a day of fog which was also beautiful. Fire/stove worked just fine for heating the place up. Could have used some kindling for starting fires easier was my only negative for the stay. :)Kitchen had everything i could need. beds were comfortable.
