beautiful village stone house, designed and furnished to a high standard
Rue des Fontaines is a delightful 3 storey house lying in the mediaeval heart of a lively gardoise village. This beautifully decorated home boasts a Summer kitchen with a large second living area making alfresco eating both easy and so typically French. The adjoining courtyard has a bassin (small pool),where one can keep cool and enjoy a glass of champagne when the children are asleep from the exhaustion of the beach or from exploring the many hills which surround the home. Calvisson itself is a buzz with local shops, cafes, restaurants, a local wine caveau, a new wine museum and a museum of boutis which is Provençal quilting. Sunday morning is a time when friends meet at the local market and enjoy a coffee or, more often, a glass of wine after buying locally produced fruit, vegetables, olives, cheeses, bread, fish or meat. A wonderful atmosphere, only to be experienced by immersing oneself in this unforgettable village The beautifully decorated interior of Rue des Fontaines designed in neutral colours to reflect the classical stonework provides an elegant and refined setting. Accented with period antiques of the region and with fully integrated modern conveniences, the house is a blend of old world charm and up-to-date facilities. Anybody with an appreciation of the seamless mix of stylish living with period furnishings would be enthralled by this special living environment which captures the essence of the best of village life in the heart of this lively village. One holiday here will not be enough, you will be booking again to continue the adventure.

Lovely property with real character and tastefully decorated.
This was a comfortable stay in the old part of Calvisson with supermarket nearby and local boulangerie just down the road along with a few restaurants. The Aztecca grill is a new one and we really enjoyed dinner there. It is a great location for exploring Nimes and all the Roman remains as well as Kayaking the Vedourle river. Thank you Jayne for opportunity to say in your property which had everything we needed for our holiday.
Schönes, gepflegtes Haus mit Stil und Geschmack. Pfiffige Details, die den Aufenthalt angenehm gestalten. Das Bassin ist erfrischend an heißen Tagen. Idealer Ausgangspunkt um die Region zu erkunden. Nah zu Nimes und Montpellier.
Unaushaltbare Hitze, keine Airco.

House details show that there is no air conditioning, and as the house is a stone house, it is well insulated from the heat normally, unfortunately this year there has been very hot weather, sometging that can not be forseen obviously...
There are plenty of fans in the house and shutters on the windows that we advise to close in the day to keep out the heat (local French residents always do this...). Clients love the village, it boasts many sercices: eateries, supermarket, shops, bank, bakeries etc.
Ein wirklich gepflegtes Haus. Alles was man braucht ist vorhanden.
Wunderschöne Unterkunft in idyllischem kleinen Ort
