Great location - on the "river" and 5 minutes walk to Fishtown. Lovely house, with great amenities . . . kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, etc. Family said this was the best vacation ever! Only downside was the induction cooktop - not user friendly, but then I'm an old guy who cooks with gas.
We had a group of friends that all had a blast enjoying this rental, spacious, clean, great decor and finishes, premium water access with kayaks and stand up paddle boards to enjoy.
This property did not lack for anything. All the beds were comfortable, the location was amazing and the house lacked for nothing. Plenty of room for our family and friends. Easy walk to town and Lake Michigan. Loved kayaking and paddling boarding on the river. Rented a pontoon for a day on Lake Leelanau as well. Great firepit for smores, and plenty of games for indoor and out. Would definitely come and stay again.
We all loved this beautiful home!! Not only was the home lovely, but it had every amenity you could need. The location was a huge hit. We loved walking downtown and right across the street to Lake Michigan. It was a great time had by all!!
Everything was actually better than expected. The pictures online do not do this property justice, it is absolutely a stunning location. The house was extremely comfortable and we wanted for nothing the entire trip. Kayaking to get groceries and pizza was so much fun!
We loved Rivers Edge!! We commented many times on how luxurious the house was with all the modern updates and upgrades. The house was also fully stocked with anything you would need including kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes. The location on the river was serene. We were close to town and the lake. The owners were super nice and helpful and responded immediately to emails. We would love to go back!
This property is the perfect place for a summer getaway. It is located just a short walk from downtown Leland. The kids loved playing in the backyard and we enjoyed sitting on the dock and relaxing on the river. We also appreciated using the two kayaks and paddle boards that were provided. Robin was great and promptly answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to the quaint town of Leland as well a beautiful and peaceful Lake Michigan beach for sunsets and rock finding. The river water was perfectly clear, so we were very pleased with the kayaks and paddle boards. We visited wineries and took bike rides. Fantastic!
My son, husband and I fell in love with Leelanau county and this is the perfect house for us. Great location and the yard is amazing to play in. The owners couldn’t of thought about one more thing because it was all there at the house. Robin is very effective in communication and we look forward to next year.
This was our second time to spend a week at this lovely property on the water bank just outside Leland, MI. We were two families (5 kids all together) and the layout is great for families-- big upstairs rooms for lots of the kids to bunk and 3 big bedrooms downstairs for adults/older kids. Lovely, well stocked kitchen.
What really sets this property apart is the location-- a huge backyard leads to the water inlet and a dock. We rented a boat for the week and parked it at the dock-- fishing and boating every day we were there. We also ventured the 0.3 miles (yep- 8 min walk) to Leland town center daily for ice cream, food, book shopping and enjoying the pristine weather.
Time slows down at this lovely place.....
Beautifully updated sprawling ranch on gorgeous property! Fully stocked with anything you could need, clean, and welcoming. It was obvious the owners care about the home and their guests. We only stayed a few days so didn’t use a lot of the amenities but definitely appreciated their availability and will be back to take advantage of them! While the home is on the main highway, the beautiful gardens and landscaping prevented any type of noise issue. The angle of the home and landscaping also provided complete privacy from neighboring homes and gorgeous views of the property, deck and water. After being disappointed with a home we’ve rented just down the street for many years, everyone in our party raved about this home and we can’t wait to come back!
This property was wonderful! We loved the location on the river. The house was very clean and nicely updated. The outdoor space was our favorite feature. We ate all of our meals at the outdoor dining table enjoying the views. The kids loved the large back yard and playing in the water off the dock. We used the kayaks daily. We’d sit on the dock every evening relaxing and enjoying the views. It’s a short walk to the beach and a short drive to several trails for family-friendly hiking. The only downside was that the rental didn’t have air conditioning. It sometimes got a little warm in the afternoon/evening, but we spent most of our time outdoors anyways. This wouldn’t, however, keep us from renting again. It was one of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed in. We hope to be back again!

A lovely house with an amazing backyard to the water's edge.
We were two families with our five kids who came to stay for the week. The lovely and large house was a great fit-- all the kids stayed upstairs in the "kids loft" while the two parents stayed in spacious master bedrooms. There was an extra fourth bedroom we didn't even use! The newly remodeled kitchen was wonderful with a great setup and fully stocked with all the dishes, tools, pots and pans we needed for cooking (except when we used the large grill outside!). The living rooms were well furnished and comfortable-- nice but still easy for lounging.
The back deck, yard and dock are the superstars of this place. The house has a couple of kayaks which we used as folks lounged on the dock. The inlet (which leads out to town or Lake Leelanau) was perfect for our younger kids-- <3 feet deep, a great place to play and splash and take out the kayaks safely. We also rented a boat one day and were able to pull it right up to the house. Most nights we ate dinner on the table for 10 on the back porch then lit a fire by the water and watched the stars.
The location is also excellent-- a short (5 minute) walk to several beach options on Lake Michigan or to the town of Leland. We enjoyed the ice cream shop (a few times), the local bookstores, restaurants, clothing stores and overall small "Fishtown" feel.
The house was just perfect- highly recommended for a great visit to the UP.
This house was fantastic. The owners really thought of everything to make their guests feel comfortable during their stay and the attention to detail was unsurpassed.
Inside: It really looked like we were the first people ever there because there was not a speck of dust or dirt to be found. The home has a unique layout that allows people in all 3 bedrooms on the main floor to have some space between them. Two living areas allowed space for the adults in one room while the kids played with the countless games, blocks, magnetic tiles and trucks that were stocked in the bookshelves of the other. The bathrooms had little shampoos and conditioners in them to make it feel like a hotel, but also had a step stools for the kids to wash their hands to make it feel like home. The kitchen was the best stocked of any rental we have stayed in ( crock pot, really nice knives, spices, etc. -there wasn’t anything we needed that they did not have). They even labeled the light switches to help figure out what lights were controlled by the switches, which was really helpful.
Outside: The kids LOVED the sandbox and the the toys that came with it. The adults loved the big back yard for the kids to play in, the shallow water for safe swimming for the little ones and the paddle boards & kayaks that were provided. The patio was amazing - the large table accommodated our large family and the covered pavilion area was great for staying out of the sun. The 4 cruiser bikes and double bike trailer for toddlers was a wonderful surprise when we opened the garage.
General thoughts: Leave the kids’ toys’ , sand toys, beach towels, bikes and paddle boards at home because they are already! You will love this house! Nicole A.
We had a wonderful week on the Leland River. It's not a true river, but a short channel that connects Lake Leelanau to Lake Michigan. This shallow, peaceful body of water is perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. We took advantage of that, and also had a pontoon boat rented for a few days. The yard is spacious, and perfect for cornhole games, frisbee, or croquet. The house is expansive and well laid-out. Everything you need is here., and we loved being able to walk or bike into town. We hope to return!
We absolutely loved our stay in Leland. The house was perfectly laid out for a group getaway and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary cooking ware. The house is within walking distance of Leland town center and an easy drive to Traverse City and Glen Arbor.
Beautiful house and property and close to other scenic views which made the location ideal. Well stocked kitchen tools/appliances for cooking. Very clean in general, however had to wash quite a few dishes/cookware before using, but other than that no complaints. Would book again for sure!
We loved our stay at the house, it has a huge yard and the way the house is built gives a feeling of privacy when in the backyard. It was awesome being able to have fires at night under the stars and having a dock so we could bring our boat along for the trip. The house has been beautifully updated, we had no complaints at all and would definitely recommend this property!
We have a great stay. The house is well equipped, located, and appointed. Yard is ample and well maintained. We have rented many vacation homes, this was among the nicest. We'd highly recommend.
I have rented properties for the last 15 years and this one is the best by far. Everything is first class from the kitchen to the outside plantings. We were a family of 9 and we used the fire pit, paddle boards, bicycles, and rented a pontoon boat for the week which we kept tied up to the dock @ the property. Leland is a 10 minute leisurely walk and Lake Michigan beach is a 5 minute walk. There was seating for eating for all 9 of us both outdoors and indoors. Robin was always there to answer any of our questions. We have already booked this property for next year.
