We promise you an experience filled with lasting memories.

'Sticks In The Sand' is in the Heart of Old Destin. This Sanddollar townhome unit is on the most highly-desired beaches of Destin, and you can't get a better seat. You will be within walking distance to some of Destin's favorite Restaurants. 1 block from Pompano Joes. There's no pool here, but the ocean is all yours. Just step off your deck onto your own beach.

A 5 min drive of outlet malls, many restaurants, and other retail shopping. Want to go to the Destin Harbor, then give yourself ten minutes driving time, and you're there.

Close to everything, comes with everything including 2 chairs and an umbrella setup daily from March - Nov 1st.: This is a 'NO SMOKING' ,'non pet' unit which can sleep up to four adults and 2 children. The entrance to this unit is ground level with no stairs. The master bedroom has a King Size Bed with fold out futon sofa. There is also sleeper sofa in the living room. There are dual streaming TV's. The Full Kitchen is equipped with Appliances, Dishes, Silverware, and Cookware. There are Linens, Towels, and a private Washer / Dryer for your convenience.

Beach Time: The private balcony is equipped with chairs for a relaxing evening in the breeze. Chair service is provided (March - Nov only) but we also provide plastic adirondacks for the offseason. The scenery is complete with both a breathtaking view of the Gulf and the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach. Play in the beach all day and rinse off in the outdoor shower.

The bedroom is next to the ocean so you can hear the waves even with the doors closed.

There is 1 parking spot for this rental that hold 2 STANDARD cars (Not 2 large SUV's) front to back. it is directly in front of the unit.

Lastly, no more looking for the perfect beach spot since the unit is deeded all the beach to to the water!

The view from the balcony is amazing. The condo is very dated and tiny. If it's just two or three people it's probably fine. The bugs weren't pleasant but I assume most places on the beach deal with them. The parking is a nightmare. The people upstairs were very rude 'parkers'. They also didn't put out the garbage and were, overall, horrible neighbors. We called the management team but they were uneffective!! We won't be using this rental again. Sorry.

Overall good place to stay!

We absolutely loved stating here because of the proximity to the beach. It is literary steps to the sand. The only drawback for us was the parking and the balcony. It rained quite a bit during our week ling stay and we couldn't use the balcony due to all the water dripping from the balcony above. But we would stay here again for sure!

Great for couples

Came down for half a week. The location is great, a 50 yard walk to Ponpabo Joes and a short drive to several other restaurants. The only way to get closer to the bench is to camp on it. The ONLY downside was the parking. The spaces are incredibly narrow and it says 2 cars one in front of the other but good luck if they aren’t both smart cars. In all, I’d definitely book here again and not think twice about it.

This place was only for one night. Literally right on the ocean!! The only issue for me, was I didn’t sleep well On the bed, I woke up in pain. Would suggest a new mattress, maybe speak to housekeeping regarding a Deep thorough cleaning. Thank you !!!

Perfect!

The cabin was located outside of town. It was very private very beautiful area.. The cabinet itself was totally adorable. Had a nice deck on the front porch and the back porch to sit on the barbecue grill came in extremely handy and so did the full kitchen.. there was even horses available for the children to feed and we could ride if we wanted to this place is highly recommended to me if you’re going to the area. We had to drive for a few minutes to get to our floating destination, but we didn’t mind at all because the cabin was so perfect!

Trip hazard roach attack

There is a trip hazard in two places. When you enter the front door and step from bedroom to kitchen. The problem is that the tile is all same color so limits depth perception a strip of different color or mat would help that. Also the apt has roaches. I know in tropical climate they are hard to keep out but a good pest control company should be able to help

I absolutely LOVED the location of this property! It is a 1 bedroom apartment beach front condo. Perfect for a couple given most locations are are for 4 or more people. So very affordable if you want a smaller condo! The unit itself is a little dated. Nothing really bothered me aside from the toilet. Specifically the shape of the toilet seat & the way it flushes it clogged easy. Unit was clean however I would bring your own pillows. The proximity to the beach was my favorite feature. It also comes with a reserved umbrella & 2 chairs that r placed at the beach every morning. The bottom deck also has a heated outdoor shower. The location is in the middle of a lot of restaurants. Parking is definitely tight. But overall great experience I would definitely book again in the future. Also for the rate of what it cost I literally have 0 complaints. I will compromise an old toilet & some yellow pillows for a beach front condo at such a good price! In all honesty I think if they remodeled the bathroom they could likely charge double so you give or take what to expect at a certain cost. Great place seriously!

Only thing good was the beach and location on the beach. The outdoor patio was ok and where we spent most of the time. The inside was dirty. We found a lot of dishes that were placed in the cabinet dirty. It really didn’t look like it had been cleaned (swept or dusted) in some time. There was black mold above the shower and it has roaches. The owner had to know because there weee roach traps and spray under the sink. The grill was out of propane and when asked we were told it was set up as serve yourself so we would have to go get the propane filled and then he did say he would reimburse us. This was the lower unit so we were prepared to possibly hear the upstairs neighbors, however the sliding glass door was really loud and heard every time they went in and out of their place. We did talk with the upstairs neighbors as well and they also reported their unit was dirty as well so this doesn’t seem like and isolated instance.

Amazing location!

We enjoyed our stay at Sticks in the Sand. The location is amazing, the condo itself is sufficient for what we needed as we spent most of our time on the beach. The only cons to this place is the parking, and the noise from upstairs. The guests upstairs had small children that were extremely loud. We were woke up at 6:20 am to stomping feet for a solid half hour. So we decided to leave earlier than anticipated.

Somewhat disappointed

Upon arrival, we had to park in an adjacent unit’s parking space because both of the spaces for unit 19 had vehicles in them. There are signs instructing to park only in your unit’s parking spot or your vehicle will be towed. We contacted the property owner to ask what we should do, not wanting our truck to get towed. He didn’t answer his phone. His reply to the email that we sent was “do the best you can.” After a couple of hours one of the vehicles left and I was able to get an assigned spot. The property is right on the beach and the beach was beautiful. Much more crowded than expected for October but with Covid, people are “working” remotely and kids aren’t in school like they used to be. DO NOT book this unit if you want a quiet relaxing spot to unwind as this is the lower unit. If you’re lucky you might have quiet guests upstairs. We were not lucky. There was a couple with at least 6 children that started their day about 5:30 each morning and stayed active until after 9:00 each night. We were unable to sit on the balcony because of the sand falling on us from the guests walking above. There were no comfortable chairs and no good place to sit and eat a meal, except for a table on the balcony which was out of the question due to the sand falling from above as I mentioned. There were some minor issues with the cabinets and doors but everything thing was clean and otherwise in good shape. If you can plan your trip when there are fewer people, or don’t mind a huge crowd at the beach, and if you book the upper unit rather than the lower unit, you should have an enjoyable time at this location.

Great Ocean View. . . PERIOD

This was our first stay here and we just wanted to go and see the beautiful gulf and get some R&R. We debated whether or not to go as Hurricane Fred was expected to come in but when it was downgraded to tropical depression, we decided we could always sit on the deck and enjoy. This was not the case. It rained the first day we got there and it was like Niagara Falls on the deck. We couldn't do anything but sit inside and then we couldn't figure out how to use the remote controls/TV's. When it finally stopped raining, we wiped down the tables and chairs and within the first hour, all the teenagers who stayed above us would come and sit on the deck (directly above us) and drip water and sand on top of us. We said nothing until the third evening. . . when they were pouring bottles of water on top of us. We finally yelled up and asked them to stop as we had an expensive camera and brand new Ipad that they were going to ruin had we not asked them. After that, it was if they were even more intentional at doing things to ruin our vacation. They STOMPED up and down the stairs that we shared, slammed the sliding glass doors every five minutes, and whatever they could do to keep us awake until 3:30 a.m. We always washed the sand off of our feet before going up to our unit, but by the time we left, the deck was full of sand because no one else in the other unit did the same. We are totally aware that this is and was beyond the control of the owners but there were 13-15 people who made our week a living hell. The place really could use a good scrubbing on the outside doors and many of the white light switches and outlets were nasty. The glass windows looking out at the beach was covered in hand and fingerprints and the grill did not have a cover and was rusted inside and out. We did not even fill up one trash bag during our stay but OUR garbage can was full and we just brought ours back home with us. I think an exterminator is needed NOW and we won't discuss the parking issues. Thank you for the opportunity but I think we will pass next time.

Backyard Beach

If you want a beach in your backyard, this is a good choice. Nice beach chairs provided by the owner. Condo was well kept and great for two people. There was a separate entrance so social distancing easy.

Beautiful location

We were very pleased with the location of the property. The beach is beautiful and there are many places within walking distance. The unit itself could use some updating and also some of the wood rot made me nervous. The parking spots are so narrow you should hope the neighbors are not present or you may not be able to squeeze in.

We are not professional renters. We started renting because James's originally purchased a home on the beach and for years he rented out the first floor since he only needed half the space.. We call it Sticks in the Sand because it is on pylons on the beach. Now married with 3 children we have continued to add our rental offerings . Due to the success of the original Sticks in the Sand, We now have 4 townhomes to rent! We have studio 1,2,3 bedroom units and continue to hope to provide our homes for families to enjoy..

Why they chose this property

The units are close to everything, walking distance to a bar/restaurant and directly on the beach with private ownership all the way to the water. . The townhome can be rented 3 ways, a 2 bedroom (Listing #586497) , 1 bedroom unit (Listing #1280803) or if you need more space you can rent it as a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath unit by renting them both. So it was perfect to maintain all my renters in one location.

What makes this property unique

Centrally located between Destin, Baytown and Sandestin. I provide everything you need from child toys, chairs and your own piece of private beach to enjoy. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off in and two flat panels to relax indoors. Perfect for a couples getaway, a small family or group of friends. Sleep where you can hear the waves and not see the cars
