About this property

Family Vacation home close to the beach

It is perfect for a family with kids, it can sleep 8 people on beds and 2 more in a futon.
The main house has two bedrooms: one with a queen and the other with 3 single beds, each with its own bathroom; there is also a detached room with bathroom (1 double bed and 1 single bed), a private courtyard, charcoal BBQ, garden and outstanding views of the Sea.
The kitchen and living areas are on the second floor; just off the sliding doors you'll find an spacious terrace to relax, read a book (we have many), or make the 160 yard walk to the beach :) -- a few people in SPA use this spot for kite surfing.
On each side of us there is a resort within walking distance. You can actually take advantage of the resort's amenities, use the pool, the spa, have a drink at the bar or just relax on their lounge chairs.
The airport at San Jose Del Cabo is an hour's drive south, and La Paz is 1 1/2 hours to the north. Cabo Pulmo, Baja's only coral reef, and a world-renown scuba and snorkel spot, is an hour's drive down the scenic East Cape.
In Los Barriles, you will find a friendly Mexican and international community with just enough night life, shopping, etc. to maintain a vibrant, yet small town atmosphere.
Transportation, fishing, car and/or ATV rental, cleaning, catering/cooking/chef, and other services are not included in rate.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
The property was adequate but not outstanding. Some of the difficulties we encountered were: *Needing to drive late in the evening on arrival beyond the property into Los Barriles and the back again into the property in order to check in. Difficult with young tired children after traveling all day and then walk through an extended review of the property. *The property had obviously not been checked and readied for our visit as the refrigerator was not turned on, many lights bulbs were burned out on the patios, the water heater to the casita was not plugged in and when they did it sparked and smoked! Almost started on fire!.. No hot water in the casita bedroom that night or until Monday ( we arrived on Sat) *The pictures do not show that the empty property in front of the house is surrounded by a fence topped with razor wire - which doesn't exactly give you a feel of safety or beauty of the neighborhood. *The latch on the interior of the gate to the road is rusted open so you cannot secure the property from the inside other then to put a rock against the gate. *The garage was not available to park cars as it had to be dug out from 3 feet of sand. The gardener did this however the slant to drive from the road into the garage through the piled sand was not safe to try with small rental cars. We had to park out on the side of the road. *The repairmen came to fix the water heater Monday but there was no english spoken and they left before checking to see if it actually had hot water. Had to call the property management to get someone back out to open and adjust the heater so the water was somewhat warm. It never got very warm and we had to share the shower inside the main house. *Drain in the casita shower did not drain enough so that you had to stand in a pool of water while showering. *Two of the bedrooms windows are right on the edge of the property wall so any road noise is very evident when sleeping. In our case a group of noisy dogwalkers came by every morning before 6:30am and got the other dogs in the neighborhood barking! *The last night someone came by and disconnected our power without any warning - again no ability to communicate in english. Management again came out without warning and walked in the unsecure gate at 10 pm at night to "check" when we did not ask them to. The view from patio is lovely and kitchen was very easy to use but overall I was disappointed with it ,will find someplace quieter better maintained.
