Great clean cottage only an hour from the city. Impressive beach area and location. Hosts are very responsive from Kim with anything maintenance related or Shawn and his son to help us with anything else we needed, truly a first class experience all around!

We had a fantastic stay at this lakehouse! The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive. The lake itself was crystal clear and perfect for swimming and relaxing—especially with all the floaters provided. The property was packed with great activities: a cozy fire pit, a peaceful hammock, and even a white sand beach that made it feel like a private getaway. The location was ideal—close to charming local spots, yet still felt like a retreat. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed—including amazing Wi-Fi, which was a pleasant surprise for a lakeside property. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-connected escape!
The cottage is situated on a well maintained and beautifully landscaped, private space with beach frontage. The cottage is also well maintained and beautifully furnished. The beach and waterfront offers space in the sun or shade under a large tree. Amenities are nearby. Everyone enjoyed their stay here.

My family and I stayed at this great vacation spot for a week and had an absolutely wonderful time. We couldn’t have asked for anything better!!! Thank you Shawn for being a great host and sharing your lovely property with us. We will see you again next year!!! Thank you.
Fantastic choice for a family getaway or a peaceful retreat
Our family recently had an incredible stay at a lakeside cottage that truly offers something for everyone. The property boasts fantastic fishing opportunities right off the private dock, making it perfect for enthusiasts and beginners alike. The lake is also ideal for swimming, with crystal-clear water and a gentle entry that’s safe for kids and adults. The cottage itself is well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and the surrounding area offers plenty of activities for all ages. Whether it's fishing, swimming, or just relaxing by the lake, this spot is a fantastic choice for a family getaway or a peaceful retreat. Highly recommended for a memorable and fun-filled vacation!
The photos are really accurate about the property. It is a really cute cottage with a large property. We played horse shoes, kayaked, swam, and enjoyed a fire on the beach. When it rained one day, the living room and fireplace were amazing. The beds were high-quality, the kitchen well-equipped. And so clean!!!! It is the best VRBO yet.

We stayed for a week and we really enjoyed our time at the cottage beautiful outdoor space for kids and pets to run around. Amazing view and walkout to the beach. Close to amenities and hot spots the town has to offer. We really enjoyed swimming and fishing in the lake! I would recommend to bring water shoes as there is a lot of zebra shells but this didn’t bother us. Kim and Shawn were efficient in communicating and hosting us. Thank you for your hospitality!

My family (including but not limited to myself, with limited mobility, 3 kids from 8-14 and my 91yo father) absolutely fell in love with Tudor Lodge - it felt like the cottages of my childhood, warm, personal, and immediately comfortable in the way only a well loved retreat can feel. From the moment we arrived for our week long stay to the day we left, we were only ever indoors to sleep. We had brought our paddleboards and used them every day: it was truly idyllic to be able to roll out of bed and be on the water 2 minutes later. There were kayaks and many inflatable water toys for us to use, the dock was beautifully lit at night and we had campfires every evening. The horseshoe set, the hammock, the very large yard our dog loved to play in… it is no wonder my kids and my nephew cried during the drive back to our homes in the big cityBut frankly, what made our stay so memorable was Shawn : he is one of the most hospitable and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to meet, and we felt like his truly welcomed guests vs clients in a sterile and anonymous house where no memories have been made.I could not recommend this lovely lakeside cottage more highly to sporty families who love to swim, boat, be outside and who value the quirks and charms of well loved family cottages. We cannot wait to return

Excellent beachfront and property!!! Huge sandy beach with great water for swimming and fishing. Excellent for families with kids and grandparents. Kids played in the sand the whole time and you can walk into the shallow water all they way until the end of the dock. We had an awesome time at the property with swimming/playing at the dock, playing games on the grass(horseshoe, racket ball), walking to the corner store for ice cream and worms for fishing, Friday Harbour is a 2 minute drive away if you want to walk the boardwalk or get a Starbucks, there is also a cute local restaurant (Davidson’s) about 7 minutes walking. The only downside is the 4th bedroom is quite small and only fits a futon bunk bed, so if you are looking just for someone to lay their head down then it’s fine but not as a functional 4th bedroom. Other then that the place was great and you can’t beat the beachfront anywhere in the area. Tons of outdoor seating for eating and watching the lake as you have breakfast lunch and dinner with the best view!!
Our family enjoyed our stayed immensely.
Hard to beat the short distance from Toronto to get here. The landscaping is excellent. Our kids loved playing in the sand on the private beach, fishing off the dock, playing lawn games on the large yard and lounging in the water in the floaties provided.
The cottage was very clean. Lots of beach and shower towels provided. The kitchen is well appointed. Large and comfortable common area with couches and dining room table. The large deck is great to having meals on as well.
The view of the lake is stunning. And the short distance to Friday Harbour as well as the town to pick up supplies are both convenient to have if you intend to either cook (or not).
A couple of quibbles: We stayed for a week, and at exactly 2am every other night a loud motor/pump noise would come on from the basement for 20 minutes and then all would be quiet again. Wasn't sure what it was. Second, as mentioned by others, water shoes are an absolute must due to the zebra mussel shells and rocky water that can cut feet if you step at the wrong angle. Last, we had 10 people and that made the cottage feel a little crowded, especially with the one bathroom.
Overall: Excellent experience.

Thank you for your review.
Sorry about the loud pump noise at 2 AM.
On another note I hav been informed by or cleaning stay that large ears were made to the sofa during your stay as well as a broken ornament (golfer) .
This is being looked into and once a repair is made (a per cost of repair) I will notify you.
Thanks
Shawn
Our 2nd stay at this wonderful property. First class all the way. Best beachfront available and only an hour from Toronto, what is there to complain about?! Fantastic hosts, very responsive and everything you need is right there, and if you do find something that is not, they have it to you right away. Excellent!
This was our second stay and enjoyed it even more the second time around. Great views, great people and very smooth communication with Shawn. Truly a pleasure and look forward to returning.
This was an amazing cottage with everything we wanted. The dock was an amazing feature, allowing swimming, fishing and pure relaxation. Large property allowing all kinds of games. Great location. Would stay again.
Stayed here with my wife and 3 kids for a week. Was a fantastic stay. The cottage is rustic and you can definitely feel the history, and it was really nice, completely clean and felt cozy. Really had everything we could possibly need. The property itself is phenomenal. Huge lot in a great location just a walk to Friday Harbour. The beach was a hit with the kids and allowed us to enjoy some downtime in the hammock or on the great deck. The maintenance crew were great, and were super responsive for anything we needed, went way over the top. Thanks to Shawn for hosting!
Shawn was a great host . The beachfront is wonderful and proximity to Toronto and Friday Harbour is excellent.
The cottage is clean and comfortable for a couple or 2 couples at most.
