Welcome to our Kai La House (Ocean Day) at the Mauna Kea Resort in Wai'ula'ula'. Ocean Day is exactly what you will experience here with your days spent soaking up the fabulous ocean views while relaxing in the privacy of your own villa. With fully retractable sliding glass doors, you will make the most of Hawaii’s indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

Brand new, beautifully appointed with top of the line tropical furnishings and state-of-the-art Wolf, Sub Zero & Fisher & Paykel appliances in a fully stocked chef's kitchen, is a vacationer’s and chef’s dream. Choose from two sets of dinnerware, including durable melamine dishes for carefree outdoor dining! There is also a built in covered outdoor BBQ to grill and enjoy your meals on the fully furnished lanai.
This one level villa (no stairs!) makes the Kai La House the perfect Hawaiian retreat for those vacationing with small children or grandparents. There is plenty of seating indoors and out. Also, the home is fully air-conditioned with three separate zones for maximum comfort.
A private backyard, includes your own personal saline pool and oversized saline Jacuzzi that overlooks the ocean and the natural landscape of Hawaii's Big Island. You will surely enjoy this while listening to the sounds of the pool’s waterfall and enjoying the spectacular sunset views! 


Three bedrooms provide sleeping for up to 8! There are two master suites and a third bedroom with two queens, each with full bathrooms and walk in closets. The Kai La House is a great getaway for vacationing couples, who enjoy spending time together but also value their own space.

If you like watching the big game or enjoying movies after your day at the ocean or playing golf, the main living room has an 80 inch OLED television with sonos surround sound and each bedroom is equipped with 55 inch OLED television.
Enhance your vacation with optional add-on access to two world class hotels, the Marriott luxury collection Mauna Kea and the Westin Hapuna Beach resorts, and the resorts will welcome you as if you were a checked in guest. You will enjoy the amenities of discounted golf fees, Seaside Tennis Club play, a hotel account to charge anywhere within any of the multiple restaurants and sundry shops. Home was as pictured in the photos. Kitchen had top of the line appliances and was well stocked for at home meals. We spent most of the time outdoors on the lanai and in the pool/hot tub, as well as at the beach and pool at the Mauna Lani. Only downside was Internet was unstable for work, TV.

We had an amazing stay at Mauna Kea Waiulaula Villa 329 and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The home is beautifully furnished with upscale finishes and an incredible ocean view that we enjoyed every day. The location is fantastic, quiet and private, yet super convenient with easy access to the Westin and nearby resort amenities.The kitchen was very well stocked with tons of amenities, which made cooking and spending time at the villa easy and enjoyable. Everything felt thoughtfully set up, comfortable, and welcoming, truly a place you can settle into and relax.Donna was an incredible host; friendly, responsive, and helpful from start to finish. Beautiful home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our time on the Big Island. The home was absolutely amazing. The two bedroom suites made our stay very comfortable and the home is stocked with almost everything you could possibly need. The home was also very clean. The neighborhood is quiet and the ability to go to the resort on the property to spend time on the beach was an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again. It doesn’t disappoint.

Perfect Combo of Privacy and Resort

The villa was exactly the way the pictures looked, top of the line and beautifully decorated. With 2 teenage boys it was wonderful having the space for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is the nicest and most well stocked I have seen in a rental but the lanai is truly the best feature. Perfectly Hawaiian. And being within the resort grounds with the ability to access those beaches and facilities was a huge bonus. We loved the beach at the Westin and ended up going there almost every day.

The property manager’s communication made a point to reach out to me with any info and return any of my messages promptly. Any questions I had were answered and the special requests I made were accommodated. We also had a bottle of nice wine waiting for us when we arrived (was actually the same wine we had at our wedding <3).

Great place away from it all

This house is very nice. Well appointed, comfortable, etc. On the less favorable side, we could not see the sunset from the backyard, it's 45 minutes to most of the restaurants (main town) and I had to pay extra if I wanted to heat the pool/spa. We enjoyed our stay very much, but might have shopped a little more if I had know the less favorable facts. Aloha!

Spectacular in every way!

This is the best equipped vacation rental I have ever stayed in with everything from beach toys and lanai dishes that were perfect for kids to scotch tape and puzzles. We stayed with our two toddlers and their grandparents and had an absolutely fabulous week enjoying one of the most beautiful beaches in the world at the Mauna Kea Resort. It was definitely a great deal to pay for the resort access for the group. It was so nice to combine the perks of a resort with the benefit of a house with a kitchen and space to spread out. True luxury to be able to lounge by the pool while toddlers nap in the next room! We would love to stay here again and would give our highest recommendation for this property.

Great Home!

Our family of 5 spent the Thanksgiving Week in this wonderful unit! It was well equipped, extremely clean and the host was easy to communicate with. It has a great location and very well appointed. Being Lik fans and owning some Collections we appreciated the tasteful artwork. Came with all the necessary Beach gear but if you get access to MK and Hapuna it really isn’t needed. While an extra cost for the access I highly recommend adding it. Two of the best beaches on the islands! Mahalo!

Best place to stay in all of Hawaii

I can’t emphasize how perfect this house is for a relaxing Hawaii vacation. We had two kids who spent all day playing in the pool, my mom who enjoyed the junior master suite, and of course my wife and myself who loved being able to keep an eye on the kids while relaxing to beautiful views and quiet solitude. The accommodations are luxurious. Everything you need and more is already in the house. Quick drive to beaches, stores, and other sites. Property manager was very responsive - we had an issue with the spa heater and the repair technician was onsite within minutes. amazing. This is THE place you’re looking for - I promise.

Big Island Family Vacation

The house was exactly as the listing described. Very clean, well appointed and in a nice location above the Mauna Kea Resort. Views were not great just because of the way the house is positioned but if a view isn’t a priority, it’s a perfect home. We rented an electric cart from Kohala Beach Buggies which was a great solution to hop down to the beach- it is about a 10 minute drive. Residential Guest Membership is key. We utilized both the MK and Hapuna pools, beaches, restaurants and gyms. Parking and valet are free with the membership. Everything in the home was in perfect working order and the support team was responsive for the few questions that we had.
