Toledo Bend Log Cabin - brand new, Lakefront - watch sunsets across 3 miles

If the property wasn't overlooking the lake from a hill you couldn't have the beautiful view overlooking the full lake.

The cabin is on a hill as can be seen in the pictures, which is where the dramatic view comes from. Installing stairs or steps will do nothing but cause erosion. Stairs or steps will not shorten or make easier walking up the hill. My neighbor next door has stairs up to his cabin. I assure you that the level of tiredness is exactly the same with the only difference being that there is a large staircase in the of the lawn.

The hill certainly gives you a cardio workout! Keep in mind though that because this Toledo Bend Cabin is perched on a hill is also what gives those dramatic lakefront views.

We provide a starter supply of shampoo and soap, but not enough for a large party for the duration of your stay. If you have a large party you'll need to bring some soap and shampoo with you. The umbrella was not present at this guest's reservation because It was under repair. The umbrella has been replaced to be enjoyed on the deck. The windows facing the West will never have window coverings because they give the view of the lake. The view of the lake is the whole reason we build the cabin. I don't know why you'd want to cover that up.

There is no trash service to pick up trash in Sabine Parish. I know it's weird to have to take the trash with you, but this is something I also have to do when I stay at the cabin. All of the other properties around me have to require their trash be taken with the guest as well. I'm very transparent with all guests about the need for the trash to be taken with them upon departure. If the guest disagrees to take the trash with them at the time of reservation I refund all their money and we go our separate ways. What cannot happen however, is the night before checkout, the guest all of a sudden decides they no longer want to take the trash with them. I know it's weird to have to take the trash with you, but it's just something we all have to do at this property. If you want to stay at this property you're going to need to be prepared to spend 2 minutes throwing your trash into the back of your truck and bringing it with you.

The guest is writing a revenge review. Everything was perfectly fine with his away all the way until after he checked out. My cleaning crew arrived and had to collect trash he had left at the property, some of which was strewn through the lawn. º the mower was nowhere close enough to damage his truch which it why no damage happened. º I never walked into the house. My getting off the mower was me rolling up a water hose. º the grill works fine. I checked after reading the review above and nothing is wrong with it. The guest and his friends were a rowdy bunch who played their music as loud as they wanted, throwed their trash wherever, and didn't have a care in the world if it bothered other neighors and guests around them. This is a revenge review.

The two items, the air vent and the dish drying rack, were without a doubt broken while this guest was staying at our property. This resulted in $83 being held out of their damage deposit. Unexpected things happen, and that is what the damage deposit is for. In an effort to try to keep my prices down for everybody, items that are broken during your stay will need to be repaired or replaced. We pride ourselves on keeping a clean place, and our #1 most frequent compliment is how clean our cabin is. We don't have a coffee pot (we have a Keurig) at the cabin so I'm confused as to how our non-existent coffee pot could have been dirty. Our grill is a gas powered unit that can easily be sterilized by preheating before cooking. Any grillmaster knows that prior to cooking on a gas grill you burn it out to make ash of anything on the rack. After the rack is ashy you use the wire brush to knock off the ash. Ask anyone who knows their way around a grill, and they will tell you that this is truth. By the way, we have an AOG propane grill with a think stainless steel rack. It's just about the best grill money can buy, and no grill does a better job at sealing your steaks than this grill. In the Kitchen I have a full size side-by-side refrigerator that is empty upon your arrival so you can fill it up until your heart is content. I also have about 15 linear feet of countertop and also an island in the kitchen. There is also a nice amount of cabinets. Look at the picture of my kitchen on my listing and decide for yourself. And lastly, the beds. Everybody likes a different bed, so we have different beds at the cabin. The two king size beds upstairs are firm, and the king size bed downstairs is soft. The guest expresses that she didn't like the firm beds, but liked the soft bed downstairs. As an example to draw contrast, I like firm beds. I like the two firm beds upstairs, and I am not so impressed with the soft bed downstairs. In short, I have different firmnesses of beds to try to suit everybody's taste.
