We escaped to the woods 2+ decades ago & love living in the forest! We have lived & traveled all over the country and the wild & scenic Daniel Boone National Forest is one of our favorite places. It's like camping with all your stuff! Whenever we went on vacations, we always sought out a home stay rather than hotels and have given our home all of the things we loved or wished we had at other stays. Carey is the full-time host & property manager, while Sue, works in the home office, keeping the taxes filed, the bills paid and maintaining the website.

Why they chose this property

Peaceful and secluded, a beautiful and magical place to be, land of many adventures! Your home in the woods! Our 23-acre property borders the Daniel Boone National Forest along the northwest boundary and is about midway between Woods Creek Lake to the north, and Laurel Lake to the south. The city of London to the east and the Wild and Scenic Rockcastle River to the west. The natural beauty, peace and solitude in the general area is what really drew us here. Our cozy home in the Daniel Boone National Forest is in a rural, forested area. Close enough to the modern world yet far enough away to escape daily life and traffic. It's always 10 degrees cooler here in the woods! The Daniel Boone National Forest in the Appalachian foothills is a temperate, mixed mesophytic Appalachian rain forest with amazing and unique flora and fauna. You'll marvel at the sandstone karst terrain and caves found in this unique area. We love our little piece of the forest and hope you will too!

What makes this property unique

Many of our guests tell us how this area is every bit as beautiful as Red River Gorge and the Great Smoky Mountain region minus all the traffic and we agree! Our 23 acres borders the Daniel Boone National Forest and is relatively quiet and secluded. Surrounded by the woods, you will not see another house, car or person here. As we to have to share the forest, you may hear the occasional machinery or dragstrip noise off in the distance, especially on weekend nights but for the most part, it is peaceful and serene. We have always loved living here! With over 40 years' experience in food manufacturing, hospitality and quality assurance, you can be sure that this great little home in the woods will be sparkling clean prior to your arrival!
