Fantastic property on beautiful grounds. Incredibly charming property that feels very unique and special. Perfectly equipped for our stay. Our 1 year old had a great time exploring. Jacques was a wonderful host and we would happily stay again.
The castle - over 600 years old was set in an amazing grounds - very quiet and peaceful
Was steeped in history and Jacques - owner was very accommodating and helpful and looked after us very well
Small Towns a short drive away to visit were very interesting
A wonderful stay on the estate, accommodated within the the original 14th century chateau whilst looking across to the later 18th century chateau. Jacques was very friendly and generous. He kindly spent much of his time answering our questions about the history of the estate and gave us a tour. He is a perfect host. This was a memorable experience and is not the usual type of holiday accomodation. Very special.
The castle was just as it was pictured, and we loved it. It dates from the 15th C and looks out on the "new" castle of the 18th C. which is beautiful. The apartment was very spacious for 2 persons, and everything was provided for a very comfortable stay. The owner who lives in the newer castle is very nice and immediately responsive to any requests. We love the Burgundy region, and the location of the castle was just fine. It's about 15 min. to the supermarket. There's a very good restaurant (Cheval Blanc) at about 15 min. which has limited days of opening. Go if you get a chance--it's worth it. Otherwise restaurants are farther away. Just being in the castle is so much fun you may not want to go out to eat. We plan to return next year.
Heerlijk verblijf!
Merci.
My family and I stayed at Thenissey for the final leg of our road trip through France. What an amazing and special property. Jacques was a supreme host and gave us all the attention and advice we could ask for. Our kids were just bewildered with staying in a real CASTLE!!! Absolutely amazing.

Amazing
It's hard to describe how magical this castle is!
We just spent a very peaceful week enjoying a wonderful part of France that has almost too much to do/see!
Jaques was a great host who was helpful and very happy to advise and help with any query or advice on anything we asked. He also has a very cute dog Gabon who we are missing already...
Can't fault anything about this holiday and we are looking forward to our next visit hopefully next year!

A Fairy Tale Castle
Imagine stepping back in time to the 1400's and living in a fairy tale castle with every comfort of the present day. You first sight of the property is magical as you come through the beautiful entrance gates. You might have to pinch yourself to see if it is real. Every direction of the view is picture worthy and breathtaking. To top it off, you are greeted by sweet, adorable Gabon the dog.
The castle we stayed in is one of two castles on the property. It retains the beauty and charm of old, but has a beautifully updated kitchen and baths. It is grand, spacious and gorgeous. The master bedroom and bath were very large and the smaller bedroom was charming and cozy. We loved it so much, we decided to cancel our restaurant plans one night so we could stay in for dinner and savor our surroundings. We hated to leave our dream castle.
Jacques, the owner, went out of his way to be the perfect accommodating host and did everything possible to make our stay wonderful. He did so much for us (amazing!) and was charming and kind. The visit exceeded our wildest expectations.
