We had a great stay at this cabin. Big enough to fit a family of 7 but also small enough to keep us all bottled in one living area. The lake is beautiful. The water was clean even in late summer. Would highly recommend to friends and family looking to get away from the hustle and bustle city lights.
This was our second stay for our annual family reunion that took place nearby. Perfect quiet get away. Great accommodations and setting right on the lake. Looking forward to next year!
This place is amazing. The cabin is great and well stocked with everything you could need. We enjoyed the two kayaks, canoe and row boat. We caught a lot of fish, and big fish (27 inch Walleye, 16 inch Largemouth) - and put them all back for you! Very close to everything to do in Nisswa and Brainerd. If you are looking for a great place in Central MN, this is the spot.
This rental was perfect for our family get away. Situated close to the lake with quiet neighbors. Located off the main road provided for quiet walks. The lake presented many opportunities for Good Fishing and bird watching.
Nice house for one family. Dock and ammenities were nice extras. Kids had great time fishing from dock and kyaks. No hot tub as indicated. Would totally stay again!
Such a pretty spot on the lake. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility. The home was welcoming and well stocked.
Much gratitude to Tom and Kim

About the host
Hosted by Tom & Kim Smith
Tom and Kim live in Otsego and have have been coming to the Brainerd Area since they were kids. They wanted to share their adventures and experiences with their kids as well, which lead to the purchase of this Cabin on Upper Hay.
Why they chose this property
This property is on the highly sought after north end of the lake with stunning southern views right at the waters edge. Sit on the deck and enjoy the the wonderful views while watching the Loons, ducks and geese swim by. There is no other place like it. Open the windows or doors and you can fall asleep listening to the Loons calling and water crashing on the shoreline. Upper Hay is a great fishing lake for panfish, bass, northern and walleye. and you can catch them right off the dock.
What makes this property unique
The tongue and groove cedar walls and vaulted ceiling anchored by the beautiful stone fireplace in the center of the room as you walk on Tennessee flagstone floors. You then walk forward to the breathtaking view of the lake looking out the wall of windows. Then you open the patio door to sit on the deck at the waters edge as you hear the loons calling.
