Things to know:
Community amenities are provided by Elkhorn in Sun Valley and have periods of closure. No pools from Labor Day until Memorial Day. Hot tubs and saunas are closed seasonally for maintenance, they will be closed after Labor Day until after Thanksgiving, then in the Spring when the mountain closes for skiing in April through Memorial Day. Golf and tennis are closed from November 1 through May 1, this is weather dependent and could be extended or shortened at the discretion of the association with/without cause or notice.

Place was clean and beds were comfy. Nice access to pool and game room and fitness. Back sliding door lock doesn’t lock and the bathrooms could use a little work to fix running toilet and a new shower head, but otherwise was fine.

Property met our needs but the kitchen needs a remodel. We loved the amenity passes to the Village Pool and pickleball courts. (Although we received info about the winter amenities in the middle of summer.)

The condo was clean upon arrival; however, there are several things future guests should know in advance.The listing notes laundry, but it is coin-operated and located at the Ranch clubhouse, not in the unit or building. Laundry details were not clearly disclosed, nor were the clubhouse location or limited hours explained. The amenities list also includes a sauna, but there is no sauna at the Ranch clubhouse.We expected dated condo but the level of wear & maintenance issues were beyond. The appliances are extremely old and loud, and both the bathrooms and kitchen show heavy wear. The kitchen cabinets are peeling from water damage. Both bathroom exhaust fans are extremely loud and rattle significantly, sounding close to failing. The noise was so disruptive that we avoided using the lights in the master shower to keep the fan from running, which meant showering in the dark. The hall bathroom door also does not lock, which was very inconvenient for a family stay.The hall bathroom flooring is badly deteriorated from moisture exposure and there’s a large hole left unrepaired. Additionally, the living room TV was very slow to respond and frequently lost connection, requiring repeated resets.Overall, the stay was workable but challenging. Clearer communication about amenities and basic maintenance updates would greatly improve the experience and set more accurate expectations.

This property overall was lovely. We came to Sun Valley for a wedding and it fit all our needs from bathroom space to kitchen supplies. Based on the booking, this space should sleep up to 6 guests. The last bed- which we knew was the couch is not really a bed suitable for 2 adults. Based on the listing we assumed this would pull out into a double bed, that was not the case. If we would have had 2 adults sleeping on the couch one would have been uncomfortable the entire time. The couch(bed) would maybe be suitable for 2 young children, but not 2 adults.

Last minute rental

We were on bikes, our original rental was way too small. Found this one, price was good, getting instructions and entry very easy. The property was not cleaned from previous renters, and needed some repairs. (I would say not safe for children, but ok for us). Vacasa’s response was good, they sent the maids the next morning and did not charge for that. They were prompt with responses and asked for details of the repairs required. Thx

Sun Valley stay

The unit was fine just a couple things. 1. the toilet in the master would not stop running, I fiddled with it but I think the pull chain is too short. Needs to be fixed. 2. The place is dark, there are lamps but many of them have no light bulbs and none to replace them. 3. More linens, it says sleeps 6, we had 5 people but not enough linens for the two people (pillow cases and sheets) 4. The back slider does not lock so there is really no way to secure the unit. Other than that it was a pleasant stay in a beautiful area.

Vacasa Borderline Ruined My Vacation

Unnecessarily poor directions when entering a large complex. It would be so easy to add one more sentence stating to "Park at the first walkway on the left, and proceed for three buildings on your right to xxxx." The Condo was a time machine going back to the 1980's--tired and old. Light switches going into the bedrooms didn't work; light bulbs in lamps nearest each bedroom door were non functional or burned out; the hall bathroom had a disgusting toilet seat that was literally rotting away (flaking paint and worse)--I previously provided pics to your customer service department. I was constantly besieged by multiple texts and emails asking how you were doing? When I requested help, they were polite and sympathetic, but powerless, would refer it the "local team" and nobody would follow up. After a while it was just patronizing. And finally, Vacasa promoted a late check out; and when I followed up, I received multiple answers relative to availability. Alternating between "Yes" and "No!" As a consequence of the above, I spent waaaaaaay tooooo much of each day of my vacation dealing with Vasca... And since returning, I have respectfully and professionally asked multiple times for a local team member to contact me to work out a settlement for an overpriced property. As of this writing--nothing but multiple empty promises to follow up.

Great getaway.

Great getaway. Right on the edge of development allows one to walk into the wild brush in seconds. Heard of elk and fuzzy rabbits were great to see too. Condo building complexes were closer than appreciated and being conscious of sound transfer was a damper for our family and a little bit of a nuisance hearing neighbors talking in bed. Fridge was spotless, as were important fixtures, but my spouse would have appreciated a little deeper cleaning behind, under, and around edges of furnishings. Totally loved the fireplace and the old retro-stove heated up water super fast.

Very Dated, Poor Communication.

When deciding where we were going to stay in Sun Valley we landed on this place because of location. While the location is relatively close to town, the appliances and overall maintenance of the house is incredibly dated. When arriving we saw that there were dirty dishes that were still in the dishwasher, there were mismatched weird Tupperware that were kind of thrown in the cabinets, there was also a drawer that had a lot of receipts and random bags. It appeared they didn’t clean up the place before we arrived. The Wi-Fi would randomly go out which was not ideal since we are working from home and had meetings and ended up using hot spots on our phones for half the week. There was plenty of space for two of us but the overall vibe of the home was cold. We ended up buying flowers, candles and an echo to give the place some music and life which helped make it feel more comfortable. I would highly recommend VaCasa invest in upgrading the place and also giving it some vibrance. No one wants to stay in a condo that’s yellow and dated when they were so many new modern and more comfortable places close by at the same price. I would not recommend this to other people considering this place. Stick with Airbnb.

Keep Looking

Good: interior painted and a plumber arrived on a Sunday to fix faucet. Well stocked kitchen. Great location. Bad: no one came as promised to fix exhaust fans. Very dated and in dire need of upgrades. Holes in kitchen counter. 2 roles of TP for 4 people for 2 weeks. We were told we had to get more on our own. After some back n forth more supplies showed up. The grill was too gross to use and the screen door had no handle and holes in it. There is a permanent dog named Lucy at the beginning of the sidewalk who barked and bit our ankles every time we came and went. No washer/dryer although it was advertised as having one in the building. It is in a building but not your building. It is 2 blocks away, costs a fortune and does not dry your clothes. There is a hookup for a w/d in the unit so why not have one put in??
