Welcome to The Dog House! We have a pet- and family- friendly townhouse set up for frequent travelers. It’s comfortable and well-appointed, with an eclectic mix of antiques and brand-new furniture, steps away from key attractions that bring people to Old Town Alexandria, Washington DC, and National Harbor. Here, you will enjoy all the comforts of home. The fully equipped kitchen includes oven, dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer with ice-maker. Small appliances include blender, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The Dog House has wifi, Cable TV, and board games. There is also a washer and dryer if you need to get some laundry done while you are here.

With ample living space and a patio on the main level and two bedrooms upstairs, it’s easy living for families or people with differing schedules. The master bedroom has a queen bed with closet and dresser. The second bedroom has two twin beds with closet and dresser.

Capital Bikeshare, District Taco, gourmet coffee, convenience store, and Balducci’s: all within 1 block. Easy access to: Downtown DC (about $20 Uber ride,) ~20 min walk to Metro; Convenient to DCA; 6 blocks to King St.; 4 blocks to the historic GW parkway and Potomac River recreation path. Easy access to I-95. Perfect headquarters for a visit to the Nation's Capital.

We had a wonderful stay at the Dog House! The house is spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom are well-stocked. The space was very clean. We loved sitting on the back patio in the afternoon. We were also just a 15 min walk from King Street, so we were able to get to restaurants and shops very easily. Joel was a very accommodating host and quick to respond. We would stay here again!

Unique and comfortable Old Town House at great location! The house has been recently renovated and combines modern and original. It was perfect for me and my teens and our doodle was welcomed which was a big plus for us. The host is very responsive and house very well equipped with new appliances and washer/dryer. The little patio outside is sweet and would be lovely to enjoy in the warmer seasons (we were there in winter). Highly recommend and we plan to be back!

The home was clean and organized with great furnishings. The backyard was a serene place for a quiet meal or having a cocktail. The walk to king street was only about seven blocks so access to restaurants was nearby. Great place to spend some time.

Wonderful stay in Alexandria

We really enjoyed our stay in Old Town Alexandria! The house was very clean and complete with all the amenities we needed. Parking was easy to find and it was a quick bus ride to the metro to head into DC. Everyone had a great time!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Dog House is quaint, charming, and perfectly located. Balducci's Grocery was a daily stop and made our evenings.

We stayed at the doghouse for a family vacation. It was very clean, had everything we could need, and was located only a short trip into DC. Street parking was easy and always available.The host was easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Check out was easy-take out trash and put the used towels in a basket! We will definitely book again if we are in the area!

We were here for family vacation. The location was with in walking distance of old town for us and close to bus stops when wanting to use the metro. Enjoyed our stay and the owners were so easy to work with! They have the house stocked with anything you could need and have an adorable little place!

We have lived all over the country, and we find ourselves coming back to Old Town, Alexandria time and again. We were tired of staying in hotels when we visited and decided to buy a place of our own and share it with others.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home because of its layout and its location. Its a comfortable home with plenty of room for a comfortable stay. Its location is idea for those interested in exploring Alexandria, DC or National Harbor. You can walk to the metro, restaurants, shops and the river; you can grab a Capital Bikeshare and explore the GW Parkway. This home is central to it all.

What makes this property unique

You will love Old Town, Alexandria. The city was founded in 1749 and is home to many historical sites including Christ Church where both George Washington and Robert E Lee worshiped, Gatsby's Tavern, the Lee-Fendall Home and The Torpedo Factory. Old Town is set up as a grid, with most homes being multi-story townhomes with shared walls, charming gardens and for some, water views of the Potomac River.
