Having historical and architectural significance, The Sandpiper is a low-density development stretching over sixty-five acres. Built in 1963 by the mid-century legend, William Krisel, this mid-mod home was flawlessly restored maintaining the original architectural details. It's the perfect balance of original Krisel architecture and high-end modern updates with a chic mid-century modern vibe.

Walking distance to all that El Paseo offers, the location is second to none. Explore shops and restaurants as well as the Palm Springs Art Museum which are all close by.

Meticulously restored, lovingly maintained and beautifully enhanced with every original detail being highlighted such as the clerestory windows, stained original kitchen cabinets, floor to ceiling sliders with original hardware and architectural wood beamed interior atrium, this property is unique and special.

This 1566 sq ft home is situated in the well-maintained Sandpiper complex. Relax on the covered patio or take a refreshing swim in the community heated pool steps away. The pool area boasts a magnificent mountain view, along with a ramada with BBQ, shuffleboard and putting green.
Within a 5 minute walk to the many restaurants and retailers on El Paseo, you can spend your day exploring.
Public tennis courts are nearby as well as hiking trails and many golf courses.

Mid century modern in the desert.

I like that mid century modern look. This house and complex includes the best of the mid century modern look. In addition, the location is fantastic. Easy access to everything in the valley and right across the street is "whole foods" and a small shopping mall.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Upon walking up to the property, you walk through a meticulously maintained desert garden. You walk by citrus trees which you can pick at your pleasure; we made lemonade! The condo is like stepping back in time, in the best way possible. It feels like your transported to a 60’s era desert paradise, which it is. Beautiful deco and pool area, all maintained daily. The property was retro-beautiful and incredibly clean. The house is filled with everything to make your stay comfortable. The check-in process was easy breezy and Carolyn was very informative and any question we had answered promptly. I’m looking at booking again in the fall and it’s already almost filled up for a reason; it’s the perfect property for your staycation!

Very impressed with this property. It had everything needed for our couples trip and more. I almost felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We only saw one other couple at the pool the entire 3 days. Indoor and outdoor spaces were great for lounging. The frame TV was a highlight. Didn't even know it was a TV at 1st. Really enjoyed setting different art to view throughout the day. Will definitely make a return visit.

Get Your Walking Shoes On

In the description it said it had a garage, so we assumed the garage was attached, but it was not (closer to what seemed to be 50 yards away) . It was difficult to walk from the parking spot to the condo. It was too far away. Otherwise, the condo was beautiful and it had a good vibe.

Loved this Quiet Mid Century Modern property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and will be coming back again. The property had wonderful decor, comfortable beds, and an incredible kitchen and bar with every kitchen gadget you could possibly need. It had a great outdoor shaded patio, and was located next to the swimming pool. This complex was very quiet during the day and at night. The location was so convenient! We were able to walk to restaurants and shops at El Paseo. We drove only 5 minutes to access some hiking trails. The owner was easy to communicate with also. To us, this condo is the essence of modern living in Palm Desert.

This was such a fun place. Funky and so Palm Springs!!! The decor was awesome and amenities fabulous. The place is right on one of the pools but there are a few pools, so when we went there were usually only 1 or 2 other people there. Kitchen fully equipped with everything you’d need. And if you need anything there’s shopping within a block of location. The 2 bedrooms were large with plenty of space for luggage etc. Beds were so comfortable! I’d definitely recommend this place! Great location too. Just one block south of highway 111!

We all enjoyed our stay at the sandpiper. The location makes it an ideal starting point for road riding, tennis, shopping, tennis and hikes. The William Krisel designed condo has been nicely updated while maintaining its original design. The condo was stocked with some cooking basics so we ended up cooking most of our meals. Having cocktails on the shaded patio was a highlight. The pool is large and very clean. Carolyn was an amazing host, very responsive and she provided some great local dining intel and activity suggestions in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

This condo is beautifully remodeled and also tastefully furnished, insuring a comfortable stay. All the furniture is fresh and spotless. The concrete flooring also provides a feeling of freshness. The kitchen is outfitted with quality equipment and plenty of it. The condo is very well located and close to the many amenities of the El Paseo area. Dining, shopping and museums are within walking distance. Also, the owner was easy to work with.
