Warm and cozy guesthouse - approx. 500 sq. ft. - with a private deck & grill overlooking a creek and a magical forest. We're the last house at the end of a gravel road, backing up to the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness Area. Short walk on private property to the Salmon River. Lush, romantic, green area. Several acres of groomed and wild spaces. Serene and quiet feel.
The cottage is traditionally and thoughtfully appointed. One bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with a small sofa bed and a gas "wood" fireplace for chilly nights. There's a small full kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower.
Our house is adjacent to the cottage. The entrance to the cottage is private, with a small deck and grill overlooking a creek and the woods. The cottage faces out to the grounds, not the house, so you will feel remote.
There is no television. The cottage has strong dedicated wifi, games and cards. There is a feeling of "going back in time" here.
Enjoy sitting on the deck listening to birdsongs and watch the deer and other occasional wildlife wandering through. Look for the ducks in the small pond behind the cottage, and our elusive blue heron.
Guests say this is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway, to work, to write a book, to hike and to be near water.
Guests are invited to roam the extensive grounds. Gravel walking paths lined with ferns lead to a covered pavilion. Follow paths into the woods and discover secret spaces. Hike up the ridge on the property, into the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness. Take a short walk on a private trail to the Salmon River, and it's swimming hole. Try out the hammocks. Wave to Mark if you see him on the tractor. Play horseshoes in the horseshoe pit. Sit atop Bear Rock. Welcome the ducks to the duck pond below the cottage. It's a special place and we're happy to share it.
We may or may not be there in the main house during your stay. If you need anything just give one of us a call or text. Otherwise, we are mindful of your privacy.
When guests are on the property we generally keep to our own patio and avoid the area around the cottage, for your privacy.
