Elegant 2 room apartment (70m2), in a secure private property, facing east / west, in the attic of an 18th century castle surrounded by moats and located in a pretty village on the banks of the Loire between Chambord, Beaugency and Blois. Neat decoration, exposed period framework and high-end services. Antique furniture and modern comfort. Bed linen, table and towels provided including bathrobes. Large bed of 160x200. TV Flat screens in living room and bedroom. Free WIFI. Fully equipped kitchen: fridge / freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven / microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, coffee maker, kettle, crockery, cutlery, pans, cake molds.

A most wonderful stay

An amazing stay at a wonderful chateau. The apartment was decorated beautifully and tastefully in keeping with the chateau, which is a magnificent building in a wonderful setting. The hosts were so very very helpful, showing us around, helping with our luggage and even returning to show us how to use a couple of items we couldn’t work out. The apartment was quiet and comfortable with all the modern conveniences needed. One of the best stays in France we have experienced.

A fantastic location with great accommodation. The hosts communicate well & couldn’t be more helpful. Arrival & departure couldn’t have been easier. The property is as described & in the grounds of a beautiful chateau. The grounds are well maintained with an added bonus of a ‘help yourself’ fruit orchard. We used the bikes that are available & spent a great day cycling to Blois & back along the river. Options to kayak are close by & we enjoyed that too. Would love to return & enjoy the area (& accommodation) in the near future. Couldn’t fault anything. Perfect if you just want to relax or do activities & explore.

Escape to the chateaux!

Beautiful old classic French chateaux with moat and resident swan. The property was well fitted out with every kitchen gadget possible! Perfect location for exploring the surrounding area of the river Loire and Cher by bike. Super Farmhouse restaurant within easy walking distance and pattiserie up the road in Mer. Loved it!

We stayed 5 nights in early May. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by a nice couple who has prepared for your every need. The spacious apartment has modern conveniences, plenty of lighting, closet storage, and quality cooking equipment in the kitchen. They have put decorating touches everywhere. Everything is airy and bright but maintains French charm. And, most importantly, quiet country living in a chateau. We took morning/evening walks on the extensive chateau grounds. There were manicured shrubs/trees and flowers everywhere. There is a moat and resident swans. The owners have bicycles, so we were able to ride on the local bike path (plenty of longer bike paths that are also suitable for walking). We were near the Loire Valley chateaus and wineries and visited several near Amboise, Vouvray, Tours, and Bloise during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wir haben die Tage in der modernen und sehr gut ausgestatteten Ferienwohnung im Schloss sehr genossen. Allein der Garten (oder besser Park) des Schlosses ist spektakulär. Der Gastgeber was sehr freundlich und es hat alles perfekt geklappt. Ein sehr toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge an der Loire.

Beeindruckendes Ambiente

Die Wohnung in einem alten Schloss gelegen strahlt grossen Charme aus. Sie ist grosszügig eingerichtet. In dem dazugehörigen Park kann man sehr gut laufen und sich an den von einem Gärtner gepflegten Pflanzen erfreuen. Der Kräutergarten ist eine Bereicherung für die Küche! Der Schwan im Schlossgraben erfreut durch seine Anmut.

Merveilleux séjour à Avaray

4 jours, 4 nuits pour visiter les Chateaux de la Loire, demeurer dans un chateau était une évidence! Donc Avaray! Un très charmant couple, Françoise et Alain vous accueillent. Surtout acceptez leur invitation pour la promenade autour du chateau avant de rejoindre votre appartement! Beauté, noblesse et quiétude du lieu. L'appartement est spacieux, décoré avec élégance, il ne manque aucun équipement, la chambre est une merveille. La vue sur la cour intérieure et sur le parc est magnifique. En résumé, mieux en vrai que sur les photos lors de la réservation.

Une semaine magique

Quand on a goûté au charme du château d'Avaray, on a qu'une envie : y revenir. C'est un merveilleux endroit pour passer quelques jours de détente. Outre une très belle architecture, il vous offre un magnifique parc parfaitement entretenu où l'eau, les fleurs, les arbres et de superbes pelouses se mêlent pour enchanter le regard. Quand de plus vos hôtes se montrent charmants, chaleureux et d'une extrême gentillesse, que peut-on souhaiter de plus ? Location extrêmement recommandable pour quiconque souhaite visiter cette très belle région et ses formidables châteaux.

Un séjour PARFAIT : je recommande à 1000%

Mon époux et moi sommes arrivés sur le lieu de notre location au Château d'Avaray. Les belles surprises, dont François et Alain ont le secret ont commencées à déferler les unes après les autres toutes plus belles les unes que les autres. Ces propriétaires pensent vraiment au confort +++ de leur locataires, et l'on se sent immédiatement chez "soi" avec Françoise qui est une belle personne, avenante, accueillante et pleine de vie. Elle avait vraiment pensé à tout : c'est incroyable, depuis le bouquet magnifique de fleurs dans le vase, jusqu'à la bouteille d'eau fraîche au frigo : il faisait chaud et nous l'avons franchement appréciée. Ensuite, Françoise et Alain nous ont mis à l'aise dans cet appartement au cachet si particulier ; Françoise est une décoratrice d'intérieur née et tout est absolument fait pour vous faire traverser les couloirs du temps si je puis dire : la courte pointe sur le lit, les lustres, le super éclairage, la beauté du sol authentique, les rideaux et la housse de divan assortis : lorsque l'on arrive on se croirait vraiment dans un rêve éveillé, tellement l'instant est magique. Pour la suite, Françoise et Alain ont pris le temps et la peine de nous faire faire le tour de la propriété ... Je ne vous décris rien et vous laisse un peu sur votre faim ! En tout cas, très bonne literie (super important pour moi) dépaysement tout en étant dans un confort de notre temps et tous les détails sont minutieusement préparés. Enfin, le jour du départ, trop tôt à notre goût, est arrivé et Françoise nous a offert un petit paquet de biscuits régionaux et qui ont éveillé nos papilles gustatives. Je recommande vraiment cet endroit à 1000% pour son calme et la liberté totale laissée par les propriétaires qui font confiance. Foncez les yeux fermés dans ce petit cocon d'amour que vous aura préparé notre chère Françoise : elle ne se trompe jamais. Merci Françoise, et merci Alain, nous reviendrons, c'est une certitude !! Ideal für eine Erkundung des Loiretals.

Perfekt für zwei Personen; mit besonders guter Ausstattung. Der Schlossgarten ist zwar groß, aber nicht wirklich benutzbar, daher ist die Unterkunft wie eine sehr schöne Stadtwohnung zu sehen.

Best place to stay ever!

Staying in a castle has always been a dream of mine and this exceeded my expectations. There was all the conveniences of home, completely modernized. It is on the third floor but if you don't mind a little exercise it is perfect. Constance and her partner were amazing and extremely helpful. I loved just wandering around the beautifully landscaped grounds. The swan in the moat is very friendly. My wife and I have traveled a lot and I can honestly say this was at the top of our favorite holidays. We can't wait to go back!

We spent nine wonderful days in a beautiful, quiet apartment in the Castle. The apartment is cosy and comfortably furnished. Here the interior designers did a very good job.
