An authentic country side stay, with all the comfort of the City

Wow! that was our feeling as soon as we turned into the Murphy Road. The property sits in a very picturesque field. We were surprised to see the space in and around the property which gave a lots of beautiful picture backdrops as well as space to play and enjoy. We enjoyed the many sunsets, sunrise and the rainy days as well sitting at the outside deck. A beautiful house with just enough space for our group of 6 adults and 4 kids. We had lots of fun playing the various games Sarah has provided. She is a great host, very prompt in her responses to the many questions we asked prior to the trip. The inside of the house is built with a lot of care and thinking, very thoughtful use of spaces. At the end of the trip, everybody said, wish we booked for more days :) It was very relaxing and gave us lots of happy memories. Thank you Sarah!

Perfect country stay

This is a wonderful spot for people looking to relax. The home is renovated inside and decorated beautifully. Sarah made sure anything someone would need was available and easy to access. So much room and space to relax - would recommend in a heartbeat !

A Very Comfortable Stay

We were a group of 5 renting this place for the long-weekend. It was a great experience. Sarah was a nice and accessible host. From the welcome notes and all the arrangements in the house, everything was well thought out. The backyard, kitchen and living room were all done well with lot of care, taking in account every guest’s needs. Nice calm and secluded area to enjoy the stars at night. Nearby activities were low, but most activities are accessible with an 30-45 mins drive. Very clean and well maintained house. Only negative if i have to be nit-picky is that, one shower for a group of 5 or 6 need a bit more planning, but this was not a big issue at all. Also, this house has so many board games that will keep your group entertained during the stay. Would love to stay here again, and would strongly recommend it.

Looks beautiful and clean in the pictures which was deceiving.

It was very expensive costing $4100 for 12 days less the $500 deposit so you expect the place to be immaculately clean. This was not the case! Dirt dust and cobwebs everywhere. Bathroom was dirty from sink toilet and shower. They advertised air conditioning when we had rented it but took that off the ad at a later date. No aircon just cool musty air blowing up from damp dirt floor basement that made my nephews asthma really bad!! Dirty dishes in cupboard and cupboards so full of food there was no room for ours. Half used butter and mayonnaise along with a lot of other food items as well as beer left in filthy fridge. We are not clean freaks by any means but when you pay this much and have children who are deathly allergic to the touch of dairy products the place should be clean and free of other food products. The beds looked like someone just crawled out of them all wrinkly. We had to smell the bedding to make sure it had been cleaned. Some lights had burnt out bulbs some would flicker and go out so must have wiring issues. The sad thing was the lady who owns it had done what she called a “walk through” before we got there and thought it was all acceptable! If hotels represented themselves in this way they would go out of business very quickly! Knowing what I know now I would never rent it. It took 3 of us over two hours to properly clean the fridge shower toilet bathroom and kitchen sink as well as clean floors and the lint trap in the dryer had at least an inch and a half of lint in it. FIRE HAZARD!! There’s more to mention but you should get the drift from this. Find somewhere else to stay unless your standards are LOW!

Sweet and charming farmhouse in the country

This house is beautifully thought out in every way. The design is charming, the house book informative and every possible need has been thought through. The only possible downsides would be the slow internet which could also be considered a blessing and that the bedroom doors don’t completely close. We had a wonderful week of family get togethers, slow coffee, canoe adventures, lake walks and swimming holes. Thank you Sarah!

Beautiful farmhouse just outside of Tweed

My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights in June 2019. It was by far one of the nicest Airbnb’s or VRBOs I have ever stayed at. Very well appointed, beautifully decorated and great views of the countryside. We would recommend staying at the sparrow hill farmhouse !
