We loved our stay here! Brenda and John were very helpful, and gave us plenty of ideas on activities. Porch was beautiful, and everything we needed was available for us. Would definitely come back.
The Sterling Suite was cozy & quaint. Upstais bedroom very large & bed very comfortable. Outside deck was great for sunrise & sunset views, perfect for relaxing, reading a book or dinner.
This place is really nice, quiet, and peaceful. I’m a morning person, so I loved the quiet peaceful morning. Not crowded at all. You rarely see your neighbors which I love. If you want to cook, there’s a small electric stove for a quick breakfast/dinner. It is about 1 1/2 hour to Yosemite. So you spend some time on the road. I would love to come back in the future and definitely will be recommending to family/friends to stay here. ☺️
Our stay was amazing. Had trouble getting inside , I messaged the owners through the app and they were soo helpful! Responded right away. Everything was great , the bed was super comfy. The place very cozy and clean. I have never seen a carpet so clean. They offer a mini fridge which was perfect for our needs. We do like cooking at our stays so it was awesome thay they offerred an electrical burner. This was a memorable experience. A great start to the new year and best birthday.
My family and I had a wonderful time staying here. The scenery is beautiful! It’s quiet and clean! Very comfortable! My only minor complaint would be that there are pans but nothing to use the pans on. There is no stovetop or burners. This was fine for my family because we had easy to make cold meals and ate out a couple of times. I can see how this would be a problem for others. Overall, it was a a wonderful stay and I’d book there again.
The overall experience was really nice. My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights while we visited Yosemite park. Oakhurst was our best option for food and take-out which ended up pretty good. The Sterling suite was very cozy and comfortable with very little noise or commotion from neighbors staying next to us. There was adequate information and advice for visiting Yosemite and the outer lying 25 miles or so. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone wanting to visit yosemite, the drive to the south entrance was about 40 minutes from the property. The one and only complaint we have would be the Ants we found during our stay in the kitchen area.
The property was well equipped and just as described. It was easy to find and close to the road from Oakhurst to Mariposa. Owners were on site and very quickly responsive to questions at all times. Wonderful mountain view from the unit. An easy 45 minute drive to the south entrance to Yosemite.
Conveniently located an hour away from Yosemite and a few hours from Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park. I’ll stay here again if I’m ever back down in the area.
Overall easy and convenient property. Doesn’t have a oven or anything so if your looking to make your own food you won’t be but other then that nice place!
We had an an amazing time staying at Sierra Mountain Lodge. We stayed in the “Sterling Suite” & it was just as pictured on the app, and very clean. We always bring our own linens since so many places don’t supply enough, but there was no shortage in our suite. We chose this suite for the King size bed (my husband is 6’2”) & the ample counter space in the bathroom. The location is great - secluded & quiet while still close enough to Yosemite Valley. If cooking for more Than 2, I would recommend bringing your own larger pots and pans, but what was available in our suite worked perfect for us. We made 2 dinners and 1 breakfast on the stovetop grill and BBQ and loved the quaint detailed decor & string lights around the grill and deck. We were a little worried when we arrived as it was super warm upstairs, but by nighttime the evaporative cooling unit had cooled the entire place. The hosts allowed us to check in early which was also great! Would definitely stay at Sierra Mountain Lodge again, to me it’s worth it to have a little longer of a drive into Yosemite if it means having a kitchen, mini fridge, large bathroom, living space, deck, grill etc. I’ve stayed in Yosemite valley before and it’s usually over priced for a smaller space. This was my husbands first time visiting and he loved it as well! Thank you to our hosts.
Even more conveniently located to Yosemite than I thought it would be! Perfect sized suite for 1-3 people. Definitely going to return for future visits.
The suite we stayed in was two stories. Upstairs there two areas, one area had a king size bed and the other area, next to the bed had a large empty floor space . The difficulty for us was that these two areas were at different levels. We stumbled, forgetting that the step was there, twice.
It’s a flaw in the design but I don’t see an easy solution for correcting the uneven floor, short of expensive remodeling.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in the mountains. We stayed during the winter storm this week and it was still a beautiful, cozy stay. Only 10-20 minutes to the surrounding towns and about 45 minutes to get to Yosemite. Very clean, parking available and a cute friendly, outdoor cat to welcome you!!
Peace and quiet...close to everything...Innkeepers are very responsive to your needs...are on site which makes a solo traveler feel at ease! The views are amazing and felt right at home. And loved their 21 yr. old cat,; sweet Sasha!! I have 7 of my own, so helped me feel at home!! Thank you John and Brenda!
