The cozy home was just perfect and convenient. The property was beautiful surroundings and peaceful, gracious and friendly host. Everything anyone could want in a vacation spot or short stay. Conveniently located. We loved it!
This property was peacefully quiet and just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Our freshly baked Meyer lemon pie was to die for- such a special treat!
As advertised, nice, quiet location. The kitchen had almost anything you could need, spices, coffee with sugar and creamer, eggs, condiments. Would stay again for sure.
Sweet Oaks provided a quiet place in the country as well as being conveniently located near various attractions in Plymouth and Amador County. The unit was clean, well-equipped and well-stocked, including a delicious home-made tart. The hosts were super, and obviously tended to every detail.
Amazing property. Spotless, quiet, safe and secure. Our host Terri thought of everything. Wow, even home baked banana walnut bread and lemon merengue pie. Multiple wineries nearby to visit if that is your thing as well. So nice and accommodating. I would give 10 stars if I could.
Sweet Oakes was an excellent place to stay in the Siera Foothills. The place was clean and loved that we could cook dinner at night. The owner gave great recommendations for nearby hiking trails & wineries. The owner even met us nearby late at night to ensure that we found the place. And would go back just for the banana bread!!
This is a cute quiet place in the country outside Plymouth off the road to Fiddletown. It is perfect for a quiet, relaxing get-away for a couple. Everything thing you need is there including some special touches such as farm fresh eggs and homemade goodies. Close enough to towns to go out if you want and plenty of other activities in the county to do.
10/10. Perfect getaway in the beautiful hills. The cottage was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked, even a few extras in the fridge! The homemade banana bread was a delicious surprise that welcomed us to our mini-vacation. We ate our meals on the attached deck, which overlooks the property and listened to the absolute quietness of surroundings, puncuated by the pleasant sounds of woodpeckers, song birds and squirrels going about their business. While the host house is next door, the deck and cottage unit are very private and relaxing. The hosts, Terri and John were very Sweet (pun intended ;). We will definitely stay there again when visiting the area!
Very nice guesthouse with absolutely no amenity you could possibly need overlooked by the homeowners. It is a very comfortable space and was completely spotless! Perfect for my much-needed little getaway to the beautiful foothills. Practically in the backyard of the numerous wineries and close to the fun small old 49er country towns for dinner and shopping. Highly recommend.
My husband and I wanted a quick get away after Thanksgiving. I found Terry's place and it was everything we needed. It was very clean and had many extras we were not expecting. Terry made our stay with those extras she included. We cannot wait to come back in the spring/summer when we can enjoy the beautiful patio. Thank you Terry and we'll see you again soon.
Terri and John were amazing hosts! Their guest house was super clean and extremely well equipped. The extra little touches (the homemade apple tart, fresh flowers, the well-stocked refrigerator) made our stay even more special! The picture of the view from the deck was what sold us on this property, and we were not disappointed! Sweet Oaks is a peaceful retreat.
Everything thing was just fine. Terri should reach out to the local wineries, for awareness , if she drops the price to $149.00 a night she will be booked all summer
This property was perfect for exploring the area and participating in a local cycling event! The cottage is clean and comfortable; the kitchen was well-stocked with tools for making meals; and the location was very, very quiet. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful; I am only sorry that, because of my schedule, we never got to meet in person. :) I would recommend this property to anyone coming to the area. I look forward to returning and staying here again! Thank you!
Sweet Oaks was the perfect place for us to enjoy a quiet, beautiful weekend. Close to wine tasting, restaurants and has it's own deck w/ bbq with a relaxing view of oak covered hills, bird watching, and a lovely rose garden. The attention to detail included fresh flowers, a very well stocked kitchen, lovely soaps, and a home made lemon tart. This is the cleanest VRBO we have stayed at. Owner's pride shows in every way. We were very pleased with our stay, and hope to go back soon!
My husband and I absolutely loved this place. Place was easy to find even at dark. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness behind each item was greatly appreciated. it has everything that you could possibly need. Incredibly clean. It was perfectly private. Place is very relaxing. Definitely recommend. We hope to be able to come back soon!
Attention to detail is what comes to mind after staying at this property. For example, there’s not just a cellphone charging station, but the cables are included as well. Everything one could possibly need when staying away from home for a few days, is available and looks as good as new. The owners are very helpful and go above and beyond to accommodate any requests. I highly recommend this property.

Everything was homey and sparkling clean!
The property is absolutely gorgeous! Even though it was a rainy weekend, we managed to sit out under the oaks, listen to the birds chirping, and enjoy a glass of wine and a slice of the banana bread that was kindly left out for us. The fridge was stocked with eggs, butter, orange juice, and a selection of hot sauces -- we were all set for breakfast Saturday morning.
Sweet Oaks was a perfect size for the two of us, and stocked with everything (and I do mean everything!) we could have wanted or needed for a cozy weekend away. I hope we have the opportunity to return soon!
Peaceful and beautiful location surrounded by oak trees, deer and wild turkeys! Lodging is fully equipped with an abundance of amenities. It's like walking into your own home knowing you have everything you could possibly need. Every room is super clean! Condiments in the kitchen, tea, Keurig machine and pods. Eggs, juice, half & half, mayo, hot sauce & much more in the fridge. Plush robes, comfortable bed. Games and books also. Terri provided a delicious homemade apple tart. A great base for touring the many wineries and small historic towns, such as Sutter Creek, Ione, Fiddletown and much more. We highly recommend Sweet Oaks. We hope to return after the rainy season.Thank you, John and Terri, for a very enjoyable stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Never again
Owner really should update listing to read, "converted garage/mother-in-law quarters." She should also let potential guests know that if your 2nd guest isn't with you the 1st night but shows up the 2nd night, simply to go to sleep, she will pound on the door and demand $100 cash or kick you out. I've stayed at any vacay rentals and never encountered an owner such as this. If you want to be watched and micromanaged while you color, maintain appropriate volume and leave everything the way you found it but still get told next time I better tell her exactly who might be staying with you, this is your place. Otherwise, literally pick anywhere else.
