Welcome to Destin West Gulfside #411! I'm Frank, the owner and your host for this wonderful vacation property. This very nice beach condo is a 1 bedroom + 1 bunk room and 2 full bath. This beach condo is located in the Gulfside building at Destin West Beach and Bay Resort. The resort has direct beach access, many pools, hot tubs, and a lazy river. This condo provides a great view of the beach, pool, sunsets, and the city! This is a great vacation destination.

I am dedicated to providing my guests excellent service and a nice vacation rental. With this vacation rental you receive a very comfortable and nicely decorated unit. To help improve your stay we provide extra housekeeping amenities such as beach towels, laundry detergent, bath soaps, keurig w/ starter pods, and more. I look forward to hosting your group for a beach trip!

Rentals of jet skis, kayaks, and boogie boards are available on the beach located in front of the resort during the day. Pontoon boat rentals available across the street. You are also within walking distance or short drive away from many restaurants, grocery store, and activities on Okaloosa Island and Destin.

*Minimum age to rent is 25. Exceptions are sometimes allowed. Contact me with request. The number of guests this property accommodates is a maximum of six (6) persons. The group cannot be all adults (3-4 max). Please review the pictures! The secondary beds in the condo are only appropriate for kids, teenagers, and maybe young adults. The group is also limited to a max of 4 children (under 18 years old). Please contact me to request an exception.

I love that you can walk out on the balcony and see both the ocean and the pool, this allowed me to be in the room with our baby and still see my husband and our other littles at the pool. The manager checked in with me often to make sure everything with our stay was great and I was so appreciative of that! Clean property and a vacuum accessible for all of the sand we tracked in!

We absolutely loved this stay. The condo was adorable and clean with a fantastic view. We will definitely be back. Host was very thoughtful with a welcome drink and very responsive and helpful. Terrific Location.

There were a few hiccups upon arrival however they were soon rectified very promptly. Nice condo and terrific location. We enjoyed use of all the facilities and appreciated the short distance to the beach and all its amenities. Pools were great and facilities well maintained. Would book again with owner/manager due to the promptness and excellent location.

The convenience of this condo right off the 4th floor elevator was very nice. Large couch, and beautiful decor. Much needed relaxation on the deck with amazing beach patio furniture, just right for morning coffee or evening tacos. We had a great time.

Had a great vacation! We had a great time on our vacation at Destin West. The condo was very clean and comfortable for our family. The view of the Gulf and the pool was beautiful. Our daughter loved the pools and the lazy river, and the beach service included was great (2 chairs and umbrella). Frank and Tracy were very friendly and made the booking process, check in/check out very easy. We will definitely come back next year!

Beachtime Fun!

My 2 sisters and I went to the beach to celebrate a milestone birthday and brought our 75 year old mother... what a great place to stay! Our whole experience was great. From the reservation to the last breakfast we had there Sunday morning. Location was great, walking distance to the pier, beautiful sunrise and fabulous sunset. We watched dolphins, we enjoyed the pools and hot tub. We will stay there again and I would recommend to any family.

everything was fine with this property and had no problems with anything, I have to mention the master bedroom mattress and box springs need upgraded . They are not comfortable and appears to be an older set with a foam pad on top. would suggest this task be performed right away.

Your there for the beach

The Bad: Both showers drain slowly. You stand in several inches of water. King bed not that comfortable. The Good: Ocean view, overlooks pool, plenty of seating, beach chairs and towels were included. Destin West property, not the unit itself: needs to be updated, looking old. Lazy river water was gross and everything around the lazy river just seemed old and dirty.

We are glad this guest enjoyed the great view and other amenities we provide with this condo. This guest did not reach out to us during their stay. We would have been happy to address any issues such as the slow drain. No other guests have made any comments to us regarding the bed. The Gulfside Resort is well maintained and the building is currently being painted with a fresh set of new colors.

Things I wish I’d known before booking this condo

This was our family’s first vacation to the Destin area. Property was in a great location in Ft Walton. All communications from the property manager were thorough to ensure that we knew how to access the condo, etc. We are a family of four including two kids (age 8 and 11). Here are some things we encountered that I wish we’d known before booking as we won’t be staying in this condo again…the condo is adjacent to the elevator. On our first night in the condo, there was a lot of noise from people getting on and off. Additionally there is no one to call and appeared to be no security on the gulf side of the property so we had to listen to this very late at night. The master bedroom is at the very front of the condo near the front door. So, all of the hallway noise - you hear it laying in bed at night. The bunk bedroom has no closet or storage. The bunk beds fit our children, but their suitcases and stuff ended up in the living room or other places around the condo. On our first morning in the condo, we encountered an issue with several gnats in the kitchen and a roach was in a cabinet. I reached out to the local contact provided. Kim came later in the afternoon and looked around the kitchen, poured a solution down the sink, and said she would call the exterminator. We didn’t hear anything else the rest of the week. The balcony has no wall to right so you’ll see your neighbors. If we stay at the property again we’ll stay bayside as it is much newer and the pools are much nicer.

I purchased this condo (#411) as of April 2014. I currently own three condos in the Destin West Gulfside Resort. My other units are #603 and #605. I immediately started a complete renovation project after purchasing and turned this condo into a very nice beach vacation rental. I have continued to maintain and upgrade the property through the years. I want to offer you a nicely decorated unit and a comfortable stay during your visit to Destin West Resort. I welcome and invite you to stay in my condo.

Why they chose this property

The Destin West Beach and Bay Resort is a premiere choice. Being on Okaloosa Island, it is a much better location than the nearby Destin area. You get access to the same beach and amenities of the surrounding area, but without the huge crowds on the streets and on the beach. This location puts you between the cities of Destin and Ft Walton Beach. You have access to all the same activities, restaurants, and beaches. I find the location to be superb and the view is spectacular from this condo.
