Kirkland Place is a private 1,000 sqft single level condo located in a small complex of 57 one story homes. Situated near the heart of downtown Tempe, Kirkland place is ideally located near ASU main campus and Sun Devil Stadium. A few minutes drive will take you to nearby Old Town Scottsdale, downtown Mesa, Sky Harbor Airport, and to multiple spring training venues. The Cubs Sloan Park is within 2 miles. Within a mile enjoy bike/walking paths and boat rentals at Town Lake, or the many shops and restaurants at Tempe Marketplace. The free Orbit shuttle is nearby, as well as the light rail within a few blocks.
The unit set up includes a large master bedroom with an upholstered king bed and ensuite bathroom. Second bedroom has 2 twin beds. Twin beds can be converted to 1 king to better accommodate couples for an additional fee. Please indicate preference at booking.
Hall bathroom is attached to the laundry room with full size washer and dryer. The large sectional sofa in the living room has a pull out full size bed and can accommodate 1-2 additional guests and has a memory foam topper to make it more comfortable. There is also an inflatable twin air mattress for use. The private backyard patio is fully enclosed with climbing vines, overhead string lighting, brick pavers, and artificial turf and is a great place for morning coffee, evening cocktails, bbqing, or a glass of wine by the gas firepit.
The community pool is located just across the parking lot. There is one reserved covered carport parking spot with multiple open parking spots available.

I am a single professional who has lived here in Tempe off and on for the past 30 years. I am originally from the White Mountains of Arizona and go up there frequently to cool off! I worked many years with the airlines and have traveled all over the world and am always planning my next vacation. I have also lived in Spain, Minnesota, and California. I enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing, scuba diving to name a few, and am an ASU alumni. Go Devils!
Why they chose this property
This was the first home I ever owned. I originally purchased it due to its quick location to the airport as I worked for the airlines. Interestingly enough, I got my condo keys on September 1, 2001. 10 days later 9/11 made history and my Phoenix base shut down by the end of the month and I was told to move or commute to Chicago. Well I chose to commute which didnt last long!. I guess maybe it holds a special place in my heart, but I also knew due to its location it would be a great rental to hang on to. I lived here for 8 years and then rented it as a long term rental for another 10 years. I have really enjoyed turning it into a furnished vacation rental and designing the rooms into spaces my guests can relax and enjoy.
What makes this property unique
What makes Kirkland Place unique is the large vaulted ceilings in the living and dining room which open up the space. The unique handmade clay mexican saltillo tiles are original and you can even find some dog paw prints if you look closely! A 90 year old Mexican chandelier graces the dining area which sets the mood for the home. The living and dining area has a full sliding glass wall that opens up to the private patio for additional outdoor living space. Both bathrooms have skylights for lots of natural light. The attached private patio can be accessed from the primary bedroom and living room. It has a table and seating for 4 with 2 additional chairs. Towering walls enclose the space for full privacy from the neighbors. It's a quiet oasis with brick paver walkway, turf areas, climbing vines, and strings of party lights for evening fun. A gas BBQ grill and fire pit both have complementary propane. The patio has a side gate access to the front common area.
