Built in 1916, The Grimsley House features original woodwork, mantels, moldings, and large living areas and bedrooms. All three upstairs bedrooms feature new queen sized mattresses, quality linens and views of the farm the house sits upon. A convenient kitchen connects to a breakfast room and a large formal dining room.
Enjoy the property by sitting on the porch, playing board games, throwing football in the large yard, going into town for a delicious meal at Fannies, nearby Mexican favorite, Las Palmas, or Lisa's BBQ, and visiting the main street with local attractions including the Fayette Art Museum and historic courthouse.
An easy 40 mile drive to Tuscaloosa and under 2 hours to Birmingham, The Grimsley House is the ideal stay for those who are attending a football game, family reunion, a friends retreat or for a romantic getaway.
The home features a spacious layout, beautiful original woodwork, large yard, views of cotton fields and a one-of-a- kind setting.

The house was in the PERFECT location for a wedding that I was attending. House had plenty of room. Several restaurants choices close by. The Grimsley House had so much history and beautiful architectural features throughout the home. Several times we caught ourselves just sitting on the front porch looking out at the property. We had family drive up from Florida for the day and they stopped by to freshen up and change clothes. They said they had never seen such a gorgeous well built home. The host was very helpful!! Thanks again for such a wonderful experience.

Sunrises & Ping Pong Competition.

The ping pong table created some hilarious memories, the sunrise every morning was beautiful from the back porch. The home was so interesting to stay in and seek out all the neat aspects of it. The beds, super comfy. We will be returning for another football weekend for sure.

Awesome Alabama Getaway

We came down for the Alabama football game, and happened to find this property. The host was very accommodating, quick to respond, and flexible with our requests. The house was spotless, the bedding, and towels were high quality, and overall, this was a very positive experience, and we hope to be back! Thanks for the great, inviting home!

Large rooms great for family gathering.

Great property. The teenagers were afraid. They wanted TV’s in their room. Property was very very quiet. And one family said they should utilize the big rooms and add more beds.

Awesome historic home.

This home looked great from the inside. It was even better inside. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. It only had one TV in the hall upstairs but we didn't really need more. The home is very comfortable. We loved the antique furnishings. We were only there for 2 nights for graduation at Alabama but would love to spend more time there at some point. The host Rebecca was wonderful. I texted her and she texted right back. A very pleasurable stay.

Perfect big city escape

Beautiful inside and out. My wife's brother drove up from Talladega and didnt want to leave. In small quiet town great yard and dog friendly. Would love to see some rocking chairs on the porch some day!

Unique comfortable property!

This is a great place to stay for a family! We had a graduation to attend inTuscaloosa and the drive is very pleasant into the University. Plenty of room, very quiet and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need and they added a grill for our stay! I would consider staying again on another visit to the area and recommend this property to anyone with a group that needs some space and a nice gathering area to visit.
