If the camping you enjoy most includes plush carpeting, cable TV, WiFi, full kitchen and a comfortable king sized bed, and if your idea of rustic means a view of majestic mountains out your many-windowed living room, then you will enjoy being a guest at our Rocky Top Vacation Home Rental. Our modern log housekeeping cabin offers the cozy comfort of all wood interiors and comfortable furnishings. Private BBQ grill and picnic table allows you to enjoy outdoor dining, and gliding cedar porch chairs are a comfortable alternative to sittin round a campfire . Rent both sides of the duplex to accommodate larger groups. The first floor contains the kitchen, living/dining, bedroom with king bed and bathroom. The upper floor has a bedroom with king bed and another full bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with full sized electric range, full sized refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, and all the dishes, pots, pans, etc. that you should need. Towels and linens are provided, too. We have a lovely, private setting, but are still convenient to town, being 1/4 mile north of the town limits - close enough to walk to restaurants and stores, but far enough to be away from it all , with the Crystal Lake Trail as close as your back door. Haven t been to Lake City? Well, if the Colorado vacation you dream about includes a remote, historic mountain town nestled in a valley of breathtaking mountains, clear alpine lakes and gurgling streams, then you won t be disappointed with Lake City. Founded as a mining town in the 1870 s, and now a Colorado Historic District, Lake City is considered one of the undiscovered gems of the Rockies. Located at the junction of two scenic byways, it remains surprisingly unspoiled by commercialism and glitz . It is a jeep -lovers and flyfishing-lovers paradise, as well as shops, restaurants, movie theater, live theater and concerts, museum, and did I mention mountains?? We have 5 14ers right here in our county!

I've rented a number of places in Lake City over the years and this cabin and location is the best yet. It's well appointed and appealing, which enhanced our stay and experienced while there. Thanks, Aimee for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin!
Great cabin feeling with all the modern amenities.Blocks away from town which made it peaceful being away from the crowds.
Thanks again Aimee for your help.
Great location. Missing dish towels, but owner responded quickly. Kitchen had everything we needed. Wish there was a dishwasher and hair dryer. Overall, great stay.
The pictures used for this listing do not do it justice! It’s so nice!! The front porch is amazing and even better in the evenings when the deer come to graze in the beautiful yard! We love this place and plan to come back! Owner was nice and helpful.
The home was just as represented. Owner was great to work with. First time we have stayed anywhere that the owner lived onsite. Enjoyed visiting with them and their kids.
We actually rented two cabins from them for our group of 4 couples. Both cabins were clean and comfortable. Trail access was great
We would highly recommend these cabins to everyone.
Quintessential Colorado cabin experience, where you think of the setting for a stay in the mountains of Colorado this is exactly what comes to mind. Property manager was extremely helpful and the location was excellent, close to the river and town but removed enough to remain quiet and secluded. I’ll be back.
Located in the high country of Colorado (8600 feet high), Lake City is a hidden gem...surrounded by the San Juan Mountains, Rocky Top cabins are "mountain cabins" personified. Very beautifully built and furnished. You have to remember though there's no laundry and you have to wash & dry your dishes yourself. It was so quiet! Even though we were by Hwy 149/Gunnison Ave. We had visitorstwo mornings: a herd of 7 deer wandered through the front yard nibbling on the dead geraniums hanging on the front porch. The people at the Country Store a short distance away were so nice. I've heard it said Hinsdale County is the most remote county in the lower 48. Love it! Okay , I have to say something negative...the bed was very uncomfortable.

Hi Jeri,
I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Lake City. I understand the bed was not to your liking. We do get a lot of guest compliments on our mattresses being comfortable but it is very difficult to have a mattress that meets every individuals' needs. Thank you for visiting!

A little Disappointing
Cabin was nice and comfortable. We unfortunately chose the wrong time to stay as the entire town was closed for the season change. Could not find any restaurants or activities to do. We were not expecting this so we did not bring all our food to cook. Everything was closed. We were pretty disappointed that we only had one small (less than a 32" tv for the entire cabin.) Would have been nice to have an extra tv in at least one bedroom. We had 2 coffee pots but no coffee, cream or sugar, no paper towels, only one small shampoo, one bar of soap, one hair dryer for both bathrooms. We are pretty clean people and always leave our spaces as clean as we find them so we were not real impressed when the note above the sink ask us to wash our own dishes and put them away for the next tenants. We did, of course pay for a cleaning fee as well. Made us feel like we needed to wash everything first before we used them. We didn't know who the last tenants were or how clean they are. We did learn a few things as this was the first time renting a VRBO. Amiee the VRBO mgmt contact was very pleasant and helpful. As I said before the cabin was very cute and comfy. We will just need to plan better next time.

Hi Terry, I’m very sorry you were disappointed with your stay. April is the slowest month of the year in most mountain towns for businesses being open, but we did have a grocery store less than 1/4 mile down the road that also had a deli. I would have been happy to address any of these concerns while you were here in person and could have provided any of those extra supplies you were lacking as I live on the property, had I known they were issues and got missed being restocked.
Cleaning fees are very typical for vrbos and any time I have stayed in a vrbo as a guest, is has been part of the required checkout procedures to wash your own dishes.
Again, I apologize if you got a negative impression of our town, I hope you give it another chance during the busier season when you can experience our restaurants and shops being open.
The property is located in a quiet small town that allows ATV’s on the street. If you want to ride Cinnamon and Engineer passes this is the place for you.
His property is great. We spent the week in Lake City and couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. The owners are great and quickly make you feel at home.
This is a beautiful location just out of town and is UTV friendly.
We really liked the separate upstairs bedroom so our daughter could go to sleep early and we stayed up later downstairs without worrying about waking her up. I was a little concerned about the size from the photos but it's actually much bigger than it appears while still being quite cozy. We brought our own groceries to cook in and were surprised at how well stocked the kitchen is for cooking. The property manager was very friendly and thorough with instructions and information and made the process that much easier. This was our first time here, but we will definitely be back soon.
Aimee had great communication with us when we had a last minute trip. Got us in a room, and even brought over coffee when we couldn't find any in town since we got done riding to late to get some.
