Charming cottage (4 *) in the heart of Lomagne

Manau is a charming cottage situated on the territory of Beaumont, a 13th century bastide. In the heart of Lomagne, famous for its sunny climate and italianate landscape, it offers an ideal setting for relaxing holidays.

Built atop a wooded hill, the house opens onto a park and an orchard. It has been renovated with care, and offers comfortable living space. Romantic hearts will enjoy outside dining under the dovecote. You will enjoy a refreshing dip in the 12mx6m swimming pool on hot afternoons and why not also a good game of ping pong in the playroom?

THE HOUSE
The cottage is situated in a former farmhouse which has been completely renovated over two floors. On the ground floor you will find a comfortable kitchen/dining room of 40 m2, a living room of 30 m2 as well as a bedroom, shower room and toilet. Upstairs, three additional bedrooms and two shower rooms/WC are at your disposal. The bedrooms are equipped with king size or twin beds.

On the ground floor, the kitchen and the living room open directly onto the garden. It is possible to have lunch under the arches of the dovecote in the middle of the orchard.

Ground floor shower room: washing machine, dryer.
TV, internet.


THE SURROUNDINGS
Located on top of a hill in a dominant position, the house nestles in the greenery, overlooking a park planted with century old trees and an orchard.

You will rise to the singing of the wood birds. The deer frequently visit the orchard; and a barn owl has elected domicile in dependencies.

Set separately within the vast grounds and orchard of the grand house, the spacious gite was tastefully furnished and had ample equipment, including laundry facilities. The pigeonier, a few metres from the gite, was a welcome and cooling place for outdoor meals. The owners, on-site, were extremely friendly and hospitable, available for any additional items we needed, as well as communicating via text when necessary…welcome drinks on arrival, and also an invitation to join the family for supper one evening were lovely gestures. The grandchildren loved the swimming pool (enclosed) although the lack of steps made it more difficult for some. However, Thierry offered an alternative to steps in order to resolve the problem. The property would benefit from air conditioning or fans due to the unprecedented extreme hot weather Europe had during July/August. We enjoyed our 3 week stay and thank Emma and Thierry.

Fantastic experience

As we arrived, we were welcomed to this spectacular property by Thierry and Emma in the most convivial way, with cold local wine and brioche. They gave us a thorough tour of the house, a renovated building with its charm and beauty intact outside and modern amenities inside. All the rooms in the guest house were of a good size and had excellent modern bathrooms. The kitchen is modern with great appliances and a classic European fridge which can be small when the house is full with eight guests, but the shopping is easy and very close. The setting is definitely the magic of this place, and we enjoyed our BBQ seating under the dovecote in the orchard. The pool is situated a little away from the rental and closer to the host house. It is an older feature with fencing that makes it secure but less appealing; it was nonetheless a great place to cool off on a warm day. We enjoyed playing ping pong and especially the yoga classes that Thierry offered us. It was a fantastic experience in a unique and wonderful house. Thierry and Emma were the most wonderful and welcoming hosts. I would absolutely recommend a stay to anyone visiting the region.
