The Ko Olina Beach Club is great for inter generational families! We saw many large families with young kids, teens, parents, and grandparents. The property has three separate pool areas and a beach lagoon. We spent most of our time at the “Reflection” pool because it is meant to be a quiet area. I do suggest getting up early and claiming a few chairs if you want some shade. We originally got a studio for three people, my son slept on the sofa bed, which was a little cramped. However, Mel generously showed us the one bedroom she was staying in and it was perfect. Additionally, Mel coordinated with the front desk so we could move to the 1 bedroom, which has significantly more room and a full kitchen. All we had to do was gather our belongings and move. I truly appreciate Mel’s help, she really made our vacation a relaxing one!My only complaint about the property is about the beach umbrellas. Unfortunately, you have to pay extra for a beach umbrella, which is the first time we’ve ever seen that. We have stayed at other Marriott properties on different Hawaiian islands and have never had to pay for an umbrella. I recommend Marriott rethink this policy at the Ko Olina Beach Club, it would likely free up more chairs by the pools.
