About this property
Lake Front Relaxation at Pomona Lake Cabin One Hour from Kansas City and Topeka
Adorable rustic 2 bedroom one bathroom cabin with a fireplace, large deck, brand new hot tub that seats 7, pretty view, good water frontage and nice flat yard. Cabin backs to corp land, so there is peace and quiet, privacy and abundant wildlife. Sleeps 8, so works great for one or two families to get away for fun or relaxation. The living room has a stone fireplace and flat screen TV with DirecTV and DVD player. There is a sun room with a vaulted ceiling and beautiful wall of windows with plenty of cozy seating for hanging out.
The kitchen is great for cooking for a family as well as a gas grill outside and the cabin includes a port-a-crib, high chair, toys, hammock, horse shoes, board games, lake toys and even a kayak so all ages can be comfortable.
There is so much to do in the area including golfing, boating, hiking, swimming, fishing, hunting, skiing, tubing, and watching the wildlife. We are located just a couple miles from Pomona State Park where there is a marina, beach, and playground, a really nice 9 hole golf course, and a trail head for 96 miles of Rails to Trails for biking or hiking. There are good places to eat and a great coffee shop just minutes away.
The cabin has one private bedroom with a queen bed. There is also one semi private bedroom with a very comfy queen size murphy bed and sliding barn door, and one murphy bed in the sun room with a regular size mattress. There is also a very comfy queen pull out sofa bed in the livingroom. There are also 2 twin floor mattresses and a port-a-crib.
The one bathroom is large and includes a washer and dryer, granite counter top, gorgeous very large tile shower with rain head and a tankless water heater so there is always plenty of hot water for everyone. During summer months, there is also an outdoor shower available to hook up for rinsing off the lake water.
From the deck there is a seasonal view of the lake and beautiful view of woodlands year around. Off the deck is a brand new hot tub, fire pit, hammock, and horseshoe pit as well as ample room for a kick ball or football game.
The lake is about 100 yards from the back deck down a mildly sloped trail. The shoreline is flat and very beautiful with plenty of room to fish, sunbathe, and nature watch. You can even swim right there, but bring your lake shoes. The mud is slimmy! (We prefer swimming at the beach or off the dock which is available to rent for an extra fee.)

About the host
Hosted by Cindy Huston
We live in Kansas City and love to get away to the lake to relax and make family memories with our 4 kids and 8 grandkids as often as we can. We are an active family and love all the options of things to do here at Pomona Lake. We also enjoy the slower pace of country life at Pomona Lake and the opportunity to be out in nature more. Watching the sunrise and sunset at the shoreline with a cup of coffee is a delight!
Why they chose this property
Pomona Lake is fantastic because it is rarely busy and yet has a nice marina, beaches, play grounds and so many fun things to do. The proximity to Topeka and Kansas City means less car time and more lake time too, which we love.
What makes this property unique
If you have not used the Rails to Trails in Kansas, this is a great place to start. The trail head is just a 4 miles up the road in Vassar, KS. The Trail is beautiful, well maintained, and goes for many miles in both directions.
