Beautiful cortijo with views to die for

The property was easy to find, well signposted and though steep in parts the drive up was not a problem. The views from the cortijo are amazing and waking up to see the mountains all around was a real treat. The whole place was immaculate, the rooms beautifully appointed in Spanish style with a real eye for detail. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms and kitchen had everything you could need. The pool was lovely. All in all a real find.

Wonderful Cortijo with Stunning Views

We recently had the pleasure of 2 magnificent weeks at El Terral. The villa is very well appointed with a lovely pool, gardens and panoramic views across the Andalucian countryside. There is a wealth of information on the local area at the villa but it was often difficult to drag ourselves away from the tranquility of El Terral. Of the days out we can heartily recommend the incredible rock formations at the El Torcal de Antequera national park, the Playa Cantajarran beach and La Barraca restaurant near Nerja (treat yourself to a sunbed with a comfy cushion and you're set for the day!) and, of course, the city of Alhambra and gardens in Granada. The nearest bar/restaurant Bar Ortega is very friendly and serves good food. Lind and Rob's passion for the area is very much in evidence at El Terral and they have done a great job in ensuring that your stay is one that lingers long in the memory. We'll be back! We alternated days out with days spent relaxing by the pool and enjoying the peace and quiet, broken only by a swim and the occasional game of table tennis.

Beautiful and relaxing place to stay

What a beautiful place! We had a wonderful relaxing week here and totally fell in love with the area! The cortijo is immaculate - well maintained and very clean. There are lots of fantastic terraces to sit at and the pool is lovely. We particularly enjoyed going to Playa el Canuelo and seeing flamenco in Nerja - two great recommendations from Linda. This cortijo is very special........Thank you!

Fantastic location, house and owners!

My wife and I stayed at Cortijo El Terral last year and we are about to book again. The Cortijo is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. The house is so well appointed. The private terrace on the upstairs bedroom is the perfect place for breakfast and to lie back and watch the star filled sky at night. The gardens are wonderful to walk around and take in the stunning and ever changing views. There's nothing nicer than picking a lemon from a tree for a pre BBQ G&T! The pool is beautiful and so welcome in the heat of Southern Spain. Lin and Rob were so helpful, even getting us extra provisions in so that we could relax instantly. They gladly booked us trips and restaurant tables too. The offer of a cool drink the minute we arrived was very welcome. Very surprised by the negative review. This was not our experience. The directions were perfect! Judging by the many years of comments in the visitors book at the Cortijo it's not the experience of others either. Our advice is to ignore it and book and book again, as we are doing. You will not be disappointed!

A luxurious villa with great facilities

When we first arrived at the villa we were overwhelmed with how beautiful it was. The views are amazing and the land around was luscious and green. You can tell the property and gardens are extremely well cared for. The inside was just as beautiful, stylishly furnished with a warm homely feeling. The owners of the villa were very welcoming and friendly and immediately made us feel at home. We travelled with out 8 month son and the facilities they had for him were brilliant, cot, high chair etc. All the rooms inside were beautifully clean. The owners have a great knowledge of the area and were able to recommend lots of things for us to see, do and where to eat out. We had a great holiday and will definitely be returning.

A very special place

We instantly relax here - the stunning house and beautiful gardens help to create a real haven of calm and tranquility. There is always plenty to do and see however, whether it is wandering through the gardens spotting geckos & picking figs and oranges or exploring a little further afield to the little villages or the buzz of the coast. Highly recommended.

Sublime Spain!

I love this cortijo! It is large, well-appointed and beautifully furnished. The gorgeous established gardens, shady terraces and sparkling swimming pool are a perfect setting from which to kick-back and gaze at the beautiful hillsides and distant villages. The tranquility is delicious and when you feel like joining the fiesta, it's not far to Seville, Granada, Malaga and the coast. Lin and Rob are fabulous hosts. They're friendly, extremely helpful and have excellent local knowledge. It's one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed and I highly recommend it.

Spanish heaven!

A truly outstanding place to stay! So much so that we have holidayed here on numerous occasions. Set on a beautiful hillside overlooking the mountains and white villages the views are simply stunning. The cortijo is immaculate, large, cool and beautifully appointed and the pool and gardens are amazing. Lin and Rob are consummate hosts, incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We have holidayed here with family from 80 to 8 years old and also as a romantic retreat for two. Stay here to chill out or use as a base for wonderful trips to Seville, Granada, Malaga and to coast. It's rare to find somewhere that exceeds all expectations but this Cortijo does just that. Can't recommend it highly enough.
