About this property
Rio de Arcadia - Two Riverside Homes, Pool & Hot Tub
Two truly unique houses connected with extensive outdoor living areas & amenities, overlooking the Guadalupe River, create a peaceful riverfront retreat. Whether your goal is rest, renewal, fun family times or exploring the Texas Hill Country, the setting at Rio de Arcadia will accentuate your getaway to the hills. Beyond the giant shaded deck & patio spaces, amenities include a negative edge swimming pool, fire pit, hot tub, amphitheater, hammock, terraced playing fields, 4 hole putting green, horseshoe pit & swing.
The larger 1,900 square foot "Casa Tejas" offers a slightly contemporary 'Texana' theme. Casa Tejas' 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath set up with separate Den, Dining, Great Room, Utility/Laundry & Kitchen, all reflect a 7 generation journey through Texas history. From the artful front door, personally hand crafted by famed jeweler & craftsman, James Avery, to the bedroom desk carefully carted cross country from the Alabama State House to the Austin area in 1854, interesting embellishments with a story await your discovery
'Texas Tuscan' comes to mind in the more compact 1,100 square foot 2 bedroom, 2 bath venue of "The Studio". A more traditional interior is accentuated by furnishings and art work collected from Europe by four generations of family.
See Photo Gallery for aerial view of property and floor plans for both houses.
The two unique houses are joined beneath majestic oaks by the 1,700 square foot "Great Deck" overlooking the upper terrace which features a kids' swing and "Fern Bed" hammock. A flagstone patio, hot tub, fire pit and amphitheater plus three terraced playing fields, with river access for wading and kayaking, create a unique outdoor setting overlooking the Guadalupe River. The swimming pool is located just a few steps away from the houses down a winding path and a 4 hole putting green is conveniently located by the front porch. The pool is able to be heated with advanced notice and an additional fee. Please contact the owner for more information.
We live on the adjacent property and are usually available during your stay.
Few places offer the simultaneous sense of seclusion in an impressive natural setting combined with super convenient access to shopping, dining and fun area activities. Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Kerrville is a small city with a big heart. It is a place known for its beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, friendly locals, and true Texas culture. Take some time during your visit to explore our little town and those which surround us. Try kayaking the Guadalupe River, visiting the Museum of Western Art, hiking at Lost Maples, two-stepping at Crider's Rodeo & Dance Hall, or walking the downtown river trail. Other favorite activities include a visit to James Avery's flagship store and visitor's center, wine tasting along America's second largest wine trail , the Hill Country Highway 290 Wine Trail, exploring historic Fredericksburg's shops & restaurants or climbing Enchanted Rock.
