The Southwest Gardens Apartment is a large one-bedroom, one-bathroom home located just one-block west from the Missouri Botanical Gardens, two-blocks north of the historic Tower Grove Park and less than a mile from The Hill neighborhood. This apartment comes with everything you would need for daily life and comfort. I only accept 30+ night reservations.
There are laundry machines located in the basement, High speed internet with Wi-Fi, Cat6 Ethernet cable, smart TV's and a fenced back yard with a patio for your enjoyment. This apartment can sleep up to TWO guests: one king-sized bed with a memory foam mattress and linens included. In the kitchen you will find everything needed to prepare and serve a meal. The building is located in the Southwest Gardens Neighborhood right in the heart of the city, making it a perfect location for getting out and about in St. Louis.

We had a really great time though we only stayed two nights. One thing we always look for with rentals is cleanliness, and this property did not disappoint. It was very tidy and well kept. A perfect little nook for two people.

We needed a place that accommodated two of us to work remotely, from a central location with access for travel to visit extended family in the surrounding greater St. Louis area. This place was terrific! The AC was a champ in the hottest days of July and August! The WiFi was robust and reliable. And access to Tower Grove park was awesome for the farmer’s market, pickleball courts, and just walking to take breaks from computer work.
Mike was a great host, who clearly takes pride in his personal care of the property. He was quick to respond with our questions. And when a storm knocked out power in the neighborhood and fritzed out the fridge, he had a new one installed the same day that we called him!
My husband and I enjoyed our time in St. Louis and the apartment was the perfect spot for us to stay. It is clean and well equipped with everything you need. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We appreciated Mike’s food suggestions and all three restaurants we tried were spot on. We look forward to returning again to this location.
We booked this on short notice and it came up on our search for availability and also had great ratings. Overall, we had an average experience. The building construction is noted as 1925 and has minor issues with uneven Heating (owner notes to leave bedroom and bathroom doors open to assist heat distribution), not enough electrical outlets (none at the desk set up in the spare room), no lock/latch to bathroom door. We had two bath towels for a family of 4 spending 4 nights and did not have dish soap (no dish washer). Some basic low cost upgrades would do a lot of good for this old house.
It is ideal for vacationing young adults on a budget.

It always disappoints me when a guest doesn't enjoy their time here but this guest never contacted me during their stay and this is the first time I’m hearing any of this. My apartment does have linens for four people and dish soap. The additional items mentioned above plus much more are located in the kitchen closet (see pics in add). I assume this guest never opened the closet because when I got the apartment back it looked untouched. Had this guest contacted me during their stay I would have gladly directed them to the additional items needed. The weekend this guest stayed it was 70° outside, not sure how heat distribution was an issue but yes I do have some tips in my guide for the extreme cold/heat to help keep you comfortable. There is an electrical outlet on almost every wall of the apartment except the one wall the desk is on, you just got to look behind the furniture for some of the plug-ins. If I had a better location for the desk I would move it, unfortunately I don't. You will also find three power strips in the apartment with additional open plugs. I do not advertise having a dishwasher and my pictures show this. No there is not a lock on the bathroom door and I will not be installing one due to liability issues with children. My apartments are ideal for ANYONE traveling on a budget.
We needed a place to stay for a last minute trip to St. Louis when our grandson was being born. This apartment was cute, clean, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect...quiet and within walking distance to a couple of nice parks, yet just down the road from many stores and restaurants. We'll be coming back to St. Louis often to visit our new grandson and will definitely be returning to this apartment.

The location of this apartment is perfect! We have a one-year-old and our friends that visited also have a one-year-old too... The place was awesome. I brought a youth group of 13 and rented all four apartments in this building. Each apartment was clean, had awesomely comfortable beds, and a whole lot of room. Mike was easily accessible for anything we needed. If you're in St. Louis and need a place to stay this is a great option. Great neighborhood, close to everything.
We loved our stay! The apartment is so CUTE. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we might need for our weekend away. I was concerned before we left that it might be small for four travelers but it feels SO BIG for the listed square footage. The neighborhood is beautiful. We loved walking to Forest Grove Park and enjoyed the Farmer’s market. It was perfect.
The only thing even close to a criticism we had was lack of access to three pronged outlets for charging our laptops but we were able to make due.

I'm sorry this guest wasn't able to find enough sufficient plug ins through out the apartment. This apartment building has older two prong power outlets. However there are three power strips in the apartment that have three prong plugs with many open slots for your devices. You can find them behind the TV, next to the bed and in the kitchen.

Great apartment near the Missouri Botanical Garden
We really enjoyed our stay in Mike’s apartment. The building is fairly old but the apartment is fixed up very nicely and is quite large. The living room has two comfortable couches and a large TV. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking equipment that is in excellent condition. The mattress is one of the best that we had in a rental, much better than most. There is a nice backyard with a deck and chairs and a dumpster close by outside the fence in the alley. There is a bus stop less than ¼ mile away and it’s a short ride to the Missouri Botanical Garden which is one of the best in the US. Central West End transit station is just a short distance beyond that where you can get the Metrolink and other bus lines and go all over the city.

I bought this building because it is in a quiet, safe, and historic Southwest Gardens neighborhood. The centrality of the location allows you to drive, walk or bike easily around the city. This is a very safe neighborhood, I lived in this building from 2009 to 2019 with no problems. In the warmer months you will regularly see people out late at night running and/or walking the dog.

Location! The apartment is just one-block west of the Missouri Botanical Gardens and two-blocks north of Tower Grove Park. You can walk to several restaurants, shops, parks, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, grocery stores and so much more.
