Island House Condo near Butler beach

What a gorgeous place. Waking each morning to a sunrise and having a morning coffee overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Access to the beach was a short walk and the pool was clean and clear. Highly recommend our unit to stay at.

The property was an older development that seemed to be in the process of being renovated. The condo was nice with a few things that needed to be worked on. The master bed needed a new mattress, it had a big dip in it. One of the rails was loose on the deck.

Perfect Beach Getaway

We love this property. It is our second time staying here and we will be back! The views are amazing and the condo has lots of space! It has all the amenities you could ever need. Lots of extra bath towels, beach towels, some beach chairs, umbrellas, and the in unit washer and dryer is a major plus! It’s in a laid back part of town, which we love, and a short drive into St. Augustine. The beach access is right next to the condo complex. It’s a very short walk and we loved the convenience. You can also drive onto the beach if you prefer for a fee. If you like breakfast you should check out the Cuban restaurant across the street or take a short drive to Les Petits Pleasures (French Bakery…absolutely amazing!)

Great condo in a great location

Condo is very spacious and comfortable. We stayed 10 days as a couple and had 3 family members visit for overnights. Sleeping arrangements were great and well stocked with extra pillows and bedding. We loved being right on the beach and spent a lot of time on the porch chatting. Lots of good restaurants nearby, as well as grocery stores and things to do and see. You definitely need to drive to everything though, but not far. Our only issues were the walls are a little thin; we could hear our neighbors tv. Also, the internet was a little unstable; we had to reset it several times and lost it altogether in a rainstorm. Washer, dryer, and dishwasher worked great! We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful View!

Cozy condo with a nice kitchen, the selling point is the amazing view. The complex itself is also very nice and well maintained with pretty landscaping and a nice pool area. My only real complaint is that a new mattress is desperately needed for the master bedroom and there were small things that needed fixing that would be quick and easy to do such as the lock on the downstairs balcony. Overall a nice place and would stay again!

Great for a family or two couples

We arrived on a Saturday for a week-long stay, and overall this condo did not disappoint! The views are amazing, the unit was well-equipped with everything one might need for the beach including chairs, a tent and an umbrella (turns out both were broken but it’s a nice sentiment), tvs in every room with cable and Wi-Fi. The access to the beach isn’t very friendly, it turns out to be a fairly long walk around the whole property to access the public beach access, but not a deal breaker. The unit shows it’s age in places like the trim and laminate flooring are damaged in places. Again, a great location and a great price, but just know this is not a 5 star unit.

To summarize: this place is picture perfect, but that's it. The master bed had visible indentations from bodies; I had to sleep horizontally at the top of the bed to prevent my back from hurting. The drains weren't working properly. I called the property manager about it, and no one ever called nor showed. The rugs were so dusty/filthy, my husband brought a vacuum from our home to clean them. Three bins full per small rug. There was no boardwalk over the dunes to the water; I encountered a large snake while trying to walk to the beach. The washer/dryer were a nice size, and the view of the beach was wonderful.

Beach Vaycay

Excellent location on the island….5 mile bike ride either way to Matanzas Inlet or St Augustine Beach Pier. The beach facing balconies are the best feature of this not too large, quiet well maintained condo complex with a lovely garden pool. Love the big, wide beach at low tide with tidal pools. Our second stay here, hope to return again!

Absolutely Perfect!

We loved our stay! The rental was nicely updated. It had everything we needed. The view of the ocean was stunning. There were extra beach chairs and an umbrella in the rental. It was just steps to the beach. It was definitely in a more residential area but it was exactly what we were looking for! The beach was never crowded during our stay and St. Augustine was a short drive away. It was a perfect vacation and we will be staying here again.

This is a great place to stay! Beach is easily accessible from Mary St. The place had everything we needed and grocery stores not far away. The only thing that would have made it better would be a heated pool. Very nice stay. Thanks

Better than expected

We had a wonderful time at this condo! The description made it sound bare bones, so we were pleasantly surprised to find lots of towels, sheets, blankets, kid stuff, and sand toys etc! The view was unbeatable, and the whole place quite comfortable and worked so well for our family! Thank you for a wonderful two weeks of good memories.

Great place for family rental

Very nice property. This unit has excellent view of ocean and partial view of pool from front porch. So great for families with kids who are old enough to explore a bit by themselves. The property’s walkway does only go halfway to beach, but public beach access is immediately adjacent to property if you do not want to walk over dunes. Only concern is that steps up to unit are steep, so if you have any mobility issues a ground-floor unit may be better. Overall excellent place for a very relaxing family vacation. Would rent again!

We’ll be back!

Our kids had Mangrove surf camp at Mary Street, so this was perfect for walking down to camp each morning and running back up for snacks. The listing does state that you’ll “feel like the first person who has ever stayed here”, and while that’s not entirely accurate, it was clean, and well stocked. We had 8 people - 4 adults, 4 kids, and a 3 year old. We maxed out the space. But it worked well. The decor and updates are great - very pretty! Cozy beds, and the 2.5 bathrooms come in handy! We loved the remote controlled window shades. Only thing I’d recommend to the owners is a pizza cutter, clean the upstairs balcony furniture, and leave a non-toxic all purpose cleaner behind for cleaning behind ourselves. The pool was a nice addition to have after beaching. My only disappointment was my code to get in not working and it took half hour to get someone on the phone to help while our frozen foods from the grocery store were melting in the car. Once that was fixed we had a fantastic stay!

Hidden paradise!

Beautiful location. Beach was not over crowded. Close to st Augustine. Sand is hard so we were able to rent bikes and ride directly on the beach. The only problem was that the sliding doors were hard to open/close and fell off track a few times. Maintenance did come promptly to try to fix. Otherwise , we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend staying here.
