Breathtaking views from this 3,000 sq. ft. luxurious home set within a quiet, pristine location in York Harbor, Maine. Reconnect with nature and relax in the sun on the wrap around porch to the sounds of the ocean waves. Walk the quiet roads, view Godfrey Cove, launch kayak's or SUP's from the town dock or Harris Cove, bike to the village for ice cream, walk to the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve, rent a boat from the marina to explore the coast or fish, or head to the local beaches to chill... the closet being Harbor Beach which is 2.2 miles away. Close enough to all the action yet far enough away to enjoy some serenity. Owners may be in the attached guest suite, separated by locked door and separate private entrances.

Beautiful ocean view property

Our stay at the Cottage at Thunder Hill was fantastic. The hosts were responsive, kind, accommodating and so helpful. The house was absolutely beautiful and had an amazingly well equipped kitchen. While we were in a quiet area, it’s still close to the beach, restaurants, and stores. I would love to come back for another stay next summer.

A wonderful stay at a beautiful property!

Our group of friends/family (4 adults, 4 children between 3-8) had a great time staying at Thunder Hill. The home is beautiful and very well-appointed, and the property is stunning. It’s nicely secluded but also close enough to civilization. Host was very responsive and helpful. We hope to be able to return next summer!

Thanksgiving

We are from Florida and wanted a house where we could host our elderly family members and other extended family for Thanksgiving. Everyone was able to enjoy themselves for the several meals we hosted. The view was stunning. The owners were responsive and very helpful . We would definitely stay there again!

Imagine a place where anxieties drain from your body until you have that inspiration that starts you life anew. Birds sing, chipmunks frolic, and deer stand nearby nibbling on leaves. I think i believe in fairies now. I tried to take one home.

A Beautiful Home in York

Our family of seven recently stayed at the Cottage at Thunder Hill and it met all of our expectations and more. It is a beautifully appointed home with a spectacular view and ultimate privacy. It has several patios in which you can enjoy the ocean view with your morning coffee. It has a well equipped kitchen and even includes implements for enjoying a lobster dinner. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening, The host and hostess were extremely helpful and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. It provided a perfect environment for our family gathering and I would highly recommend it. We would love to return in the near future.

My husband and I grew up in Maine and after years away working, we returned in 2011.

Why they chose this property

We bought the property for its uniqueness. We are surrounded by nature. We see foxes, deer, bald eagles, otters, turkey almost daily. It's close to the village, shopping, beaches, the highway and restaurants but far enough away where you don't hear any road noise... just frogs croaking, crickets chirping, wind blowing and the waves crashing (on a very still night). The sunrises and sunset are spectacular as are the clear night skies. It's rare to find somewhere so peaceful and serene yet conveniently located.

What makes this property unique

The pictures don't do the view justice. The windows in the the master bedroom and living room are like a beautiful mural that changes every day.
