Hello. My family has owned our land since 1856. We offer 4 bedrooms, with portable crib. 3 full bathrooms. Our home can sleep 15 people. We have Enjoy trails, 2 stocked ponds (poles provided). Wood burning fireplace/outdoor fire pit. My ancestors cleared the land and in 1876 built the home and barn we proudly offer to guests. We offer fishing, hiking and allow ATV's. The property was awarded by the Governor of Illinois as a Historic home/barn landmark and were committed to its future. We have made numerous enhancements while retaining its heritage. Near Rend Lake, Wineries, golf, Shawnee Forest/Giant City/water park & Big Red Barn wedding hall. Internet, stove, microwave, coffee maker (coffee provided), washer/dryer, AC, 4 TV's, propane and BBQ grill, and many outdoor activities such as Frisbee golf and horseshoes. It would be our pleasure to host you.

We travel to the Mount Vernon area every few months and this was by far the best location we have ever stayed! Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Enjoyed having bonfires! Would have liked a map of the trails and approximate lengths. Owner was very responsive to questions! We will definitely try to stay here again in future trips!
Very nice place with lots of space to roam. Very clean and everything is kept up on. Swift and prompt communication with the owner. Loved it here and will be returning. Thank you!
It was a great rural location and a lovely farmhouse. It is a bit more full than the photos show, so it felt a little cramped at times. This is also just the way Mid-West farmhouses are; the old layout of rooms feels small, even with a big house. So, keep this in mind.It is a really nice property; the barn was a bit dirty to do a lot in, so keep that in mind if you are planning on using it. The rest of the outdoor space was great. We were a group of photographers, and everyone really loved the outdoor space. If you are in the area of the country, it's a great option.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful! It was so quiet and relaxing. I only had two small complaints. The roach activity in the kitchen and on the cabinets. Also there needs to be a had railing outside. I’m 5 ft tall. I had to hold on the columns to get on the porch. The step is very high for someone as short as I am. But we thank you for your hospitality. It was so nice to see we didn’t need anything in the kitchen.
