Mas des Rêves is set in a quaint and quiet hamlet, with sweeping views of the countryside and the ochre village of Roussillon. This old, stone country home has been transformed from an old barn into a comfortable, tastefully decorated vacation rental. Complete with a gourmet kitchen, spacious dining and living room, five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a garage converted in to a large tv room, spacious outdoor living area, summer terrace and swimming pool. Great location for country walks, cycling and visiting the picturesque hilltop villages of Provence.

In high season (June, July, August) we require a minimum 7 night stay. We accept bookings from Saturday to Saturday.

Please note that our property is not equipped with an EV (electric vehicle) charger. We can provide directions to the nearest charging station.

Charming Provencal Experience

Beautifully redone farmhouse, impeccably decorated with a kitchen full of anything you need for a beautiful meal. The property manager made everything worthwhile, so friendly, so helpful and available any time we needed him. Cannot recommend this property more for a family or just a couple. Fabulous location also.

Superbe propriété pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette magnifique propriété. L’accueil par Jean Marie fut excellent avec une multitude de petites intentions qui nous attendaient à notre arrivée ( plateau de charcuterie, excellents fromages, sélection très large de fruits et légumes, une bouteille de vin…). La maison est extrêmement bien équipée. Jean Marie est parfaitement disponible si besoin de quoi que ce soit. Le seul point négatif : au vue du prix de la location la piscine pourrait être chauffée.

Nous essayons depuis un année d’installer un système de chauffage pour la piscine, mais Covid a rendu cette tâche difficile. Le système sera installé ce septembre. Nous espérons que vous envisagerez vos vacances avec nous a l’avenir.

I am a financial advisor with a Canadian banking institution (and a dreamer) and for 13 years my wife owned a French-themed store in Toronto, until she retired recently.

Why they chose this property

We first fell in love with Provence 20 years ago , when we left our one year son with his grandparents in Scotland and escaped for a long weekend to the south of France. We fit a lot into that long weekend, visiting Aix, St. Rémy, Avignon, Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux and more, and vowed to return for a longer holiday. Thus began our annual pilgrimage to Provence. Our son once said that there was nothing like the smell of Provence, the earthy blend of lavender, grass and vines (and maybe the smell of cheese and bread too?) as you drive through the valley with the windows down. He is quite right.

In 2011 we took the plunge and bought our first home in Provence, located in Roussillon and just a few minutes from Hameau les Barbiers. It was a new build home and a blank slate, so we would have the fun and challenges of decorating, landscaping and installing a swimming pool. It was a great adventure that we undertook together as a family. We have successfully rented this home for 8 years and have also spent many wonderful family holidays there.

In 2018 the dreamer in our family decided that it might be time to start looking for our Provençal dream house, a traditional stone Provençal country house. And then, as if it was fate, we stumbled upon - or rather, rode our bicycles past - Mas des Rêves. We fell in love with the breathtaking views of Roussillon, the ochre cliffs and the surrounding vineyards and found ourselves taking the plunge again. The house makes for a wonderful place to explore the area or, it can be the place you never leave and just relax completely and drink in the views.
