About this property
Gnome away from home
Welcome to our little piece of paradise! Located perfectly between Knoxville and Chattanooga this cottage gives you access to everything the area has to offer or just come hang out with the animals.
Enjoy the rural setting with gorgeous sunrises/sunsets along with the amazing night sky! All are welcome.
The guest cottage yours to enjoy. Please also feel free to wander around the property which is mostly fenced.
Please note we do live on site and run a small hobby farm. There are chickens, peafowl, honey bees, goats, alpacas, and dogs on the property along with whatever other animals wander this way.
The chickens are allowed to free range during the day and we often let livestock out to graze when the weather is nice. If you are not comfortable with them being out please let us know and we will make sure not to open the gates during your stay. While we hate to had to add this we are not liable for incidents or injuries while you are on the property.
We are open to as much or as little interaction as you prefer. We live on site but come and go frequently. You may see us hanging around or we might be out having an adventure (or just working). Regardless we are always available by phone or email.
Generally speaking we allow self check in and check out. If you would like us to greet you please let me know and I will do my best to make that possible.
Within an hour you can be in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Tellico Plains, Ocoee etc. Within 1.5 hours you can be in the Smoky mountain national park or nearby in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for any tourist activity you can imagine. Sweetwater itself is home to a beautiful downtown! We are minutes away from Watt's bar along with SO many outdoor activities! Just a lovely country setting to relax and recharge.

About the host
Hosted by Casey Kramer
Hi there! Our family moved to east Tennessee after years of dreaming of living near the mountains. We are all nature lovers and enjoy every little thing this area has to offer. We are extensive travelers and look forward to new adventures. We purchased this property in 2019 and at that time it was in pretty sad shape. The trees had recently been harvested and the property was a bit of a mess. We have slowly began replanting and cleaning up as time allows while continuing to grow our hobby farm. We are thrilled to be able to share our space with others <3
Why they chose this property
We have always dreamed of living in a log home but also have been fascinated with going tiny. This property gave us the best of both worlds. We live in the main home and share out tiny home/cottage with guests. This property also is in such an ideal setting for anyone wanting to unplug and relax. Beyond that we have been given the opportunity to take a property that had not previously been respected and make it beautiful once again.
What makes this property unique
On the property guests have the unique opportunity to interact with our free range farm livestock on a daily basis. You are welcome to collect fresh eggs for your own use and to wander the property. During the warm months you are also welcome to help out in the garden or simply pick your own fresh produce. Star gazing at night is beyond incredible and beauty truly surrounds the entire property.
