About this property

Fishing just steps away from cabin, Play in Swim Spa or Tunnels

The Skipping Stone is nestled directly on the Little Pigeon River, Gatlinburg's pre-eminent trout stream, on three acres, with hundreds of feet of river frontage. Aside from its 'right smack there on the river' location, this luxurious lodge is the absolute, bar none, best of accommodations with over 4,200 square feet, ten-foot ceiling, massive bedrooms (4 identical master suites with king-size beds) and spacious decks overlooking the river.

Luxuries and amenities of The Skipping Stone include HDTV, DVD collection, Wii and XBox available, excellent kitchenware and dinnerware, stainless steel appliances and satellite with tons of premium movie channels. Each bedroom features its own HDTV and spacious, well-appointed bath with jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Hardwood floors and the stacked stone fireplace create a cozy mountain atmosphere. The game room is fully equipped to occupy any guest of any age. This cabin will spoil you either indoors or out.

Aside from the house, the river is the real highlight here. Simply put, the setting is stunning, with the view unobstructed upstream and downstream except for the river house across and a few hundred feet upstream. Looking back from the river, only one neighbor's house is visible for as far as the eye can see. Directly in front of the two floors of decks is a fabulous swimming hole, rapids upstream and downstream. You will need a license and we can furnish all necessary information. The gorgeous view, sounds of the rushing river and gentle breezes make dinner on the deck an unforgettable experience.

This million-dollar-plus lodge was completed in 2006 with no detail overlooked. Treat yourself to something truly special, the very best of settings and accommodations, a home you will definitely want to return to again and again.

Beautiful...relaxing...but oh that driveway
Skipping stone is truly an impressive house. The bedrooms are very large en-suites with jetted tubs/separate showers. A nice retreat if needed. The house is large and comfortably accommodated 9 of us on our recent trip. There is a floor for kids which is excellent, and a floor with games; pool table, ski-ball, poker table and theater seating. As impressive as that area was, we never used it, as we spent all our time outside. The river is amazing. The covered porches are expansive and comfortable. The covered pavilion, complete with spa tub (not all jets work however), large fireplace and over-sized picnic table, is were we spent time when not enjoying the river. The house comes with river tubes and plenty of noodles for enjoying the rapids and water. Fish were caught every time (and released). It was truly an incredible experience. But seriously...that driveway is no joke! It rained many times during our week stay, and we opted not to attempt it while wet, as it was a challenge while dry. That will not stop us from returning to skipping stone, however.

AMAZING RENTAL PROPERTY
Just returned from a long weekend stay at this property. There is no way to put into words how much we loved our few days there. If you love a peaceful serene setting, it doesn't get any better than this.. The outdoor spaces are perfect. My husband loved fishing in the stream that runs right in front of the house (trout). If you don't want to fish the owners have put chairs down beside the river you can relax in. There is also a fire pit area between the house and the river to enjoy. Bring your own wood or gather it from the woods. Then there are the porches that span the entire length of the house. Just pick from one of the many chairs and relax while watching the stream and listen to its peaceful bubbling. The porch on the main level extends into a huge covered outdoor area which has a large swim spa, grilling area, huge picnic table, and very beautiful large stone fireplace with chairs around it. Nothing has been omitted or overlooked! The kitchen is well stocked with good pots, pans, mixing bowls, silverware, plates, glasses, etc. We had everything we needed. Everyone thought their beds slept well. We had plenty of towels. The area on the top level for the kiddos is unlike anything I have ever seen in a private home. My 10 Yyo nephew hardly came down. The floors, walls, and ceilings are covered in colorful foam play mats. There are 4 little cubbies for sleeping, little tunnel like areas, Xbox, Play Station, Wii (bring your own favorite games). Sadly it appears renters have not taken care of the games the owners have provided. This is an excellent property for a large family gathering, girl friends outing, friends and family outing etc. Plenty of room to have some quiet time or all gather together. Grocery store is an easy 6 or so mile drive. Take some jigsaw puzzles, cards, games, book to read and enjoy a little slice of heaven. We certainly look forward to a return visit for an entire week next time.

This cabin was nothing like I’ve ever seen before!!! It’s was truly perfect!!
The sounds of the river were so relaxing, and the cabin was exactly how it was described. Beautifully decorated and clean as a whistle. My 5 kids enjoyed the third level with all the tunnels for hours. The swim spa and back porch was where everyone hung out mostly all week. The large table and extra chairs were a nice touch.

Lovin the river!!
We enjoyed our time at the house. The king suites were really spacious and the bathroom amount was great for our group. The fold out couch on the first floor was nasty when we folded it out. There was Cheetos left in the bed, I'm guessing from the last renters. The fire pit outside was really nice and the porch was very roomy. The rooms on the third floor was a little close but for a kid it would probably be great..
