Stream your own music through a 5 point speaker sound system by Sonos. 4 TVs (2 Smart TVs with AppleTV). 5 Bicycles on site. Generous supply of firewood ($10/nt.). Located in the exclusive Big Bear Castle Glen Estates, this property offers privacy and space, it's backyard a 10 acre eagle preserve.
PARKING: There are two driveways and two garages. Off winter you can easily park up to 5 cars on the property. Street parking is prohibited. In snowy conditions, the upper driveway, being steep, gets icy and very slippery. When icy, we recommend only one car be parked on the upper driveway and parked at the bottom. The lower driveway is flat and also has a 2 car garage, thus accommodating 4 cars in summer or winter. There is plenty of permitted street parking, even in the winter; however, if it snows the city snowplows need access to the streets. If your car is parked on the street when the city has to plow they will likely maneuver around your car, but may tow or cite you as permitted by law. Regardless, during winter, the risks during scheduled snow plowing are yours. Please note, I contract annually with a local snowplowing service to remove snow from the driveways.
Surveillance Cameras, Noise Monitoring and Remote Control Devices: There are 5 motion censored exterior cameras on the premises: 1 at the lower driveway; 1 at the upper driveway; 1 at the 2nd floor front door and deck; 1 at the 1st floor front door and 1 on the 2nd floor rear deck (spa is not visible). There are 3 noise monitoring devices that measure noise levels in decibels but do not record any audio. They are located at the front deck, rear deck, and living room. Lastly, several functions can be controlled remotely by the Owner. These include the front door lock, the water supply line, the thermostats and the exterior landscape lighting.
There are The house is located within 2 miles of the two ski resorts. In the summer take in a stroll to the lake, or ride bikes (5) provided at the house, for boating, jet skiing, water skiing and fishing. City License #: VRR-2025-0689 Expiration 6/7/26.

What an incredible stay at this stunning mountain villa!!! It is the most beautiful house which fit our needs perfectly!! There is something really magical about this villa which kept leading us to just want to lounge and mindfully slow down. The jaw dropping great room with fireplace and showcasing windows continued to be awe inspiring! Absolutely loved being able to step out the back door and go for a little hike to have views of the lake and the ski runs, very cool! The neighborhood was excellent and wonderful for us to have family walks. Thank you Melissa for booking and leaving a kind review. I think the summer months in Big Bear are spectacular. Glad you found the Mt Villa comfortable for your large group.
Wonderful property. Everything’s in great shape and good quality. Owner has clearly been very thoughtful about things, including endless nice decorative touches and clear labels for all switches and remotes. We’ve stayed in many pricey rentals but this one deserves kudos for such attention to guest needs and enjoyment. Tip: stroll up the hill out back for a spectacular west-facing view across the entire lake (awesome sunset spot)

This home is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly comfortable and inviting. I loved the large spaces for family/friends to gather together or the many spaces you can go for quieter times. Hi Natalie, Thank you so much for staying. Please come back again.
Awesome property. We will definitely be back next year! The owner was very helpful and communication was great before and during our trip. He even allowed us to checkout several hours late to wait for the roads to open after the blizzard.
This house was over and above what we expected. Our family had a great time. There was plenty of room for all of us. If you’re looking for a place for a large family, this is absolutely the house. Five star.

Hi Daniel, thank you so much for the nice review. I'm glad the Mt Villa worked out well for your family holiday retreat. Please come back again.
Very impressed with the villa. When you step inside, all you'll say is WOW!
Plenty of beds, somewhat to soft though.
Beautiful spa on the deck, but couldn't lower the temperature, too hot for the summertime.

John, Thank you for booking. The spa has always been set to 102 for optimal guest enjoyment; however, since your request, I've installed a controller that allows remote access and the ability to override the temp setting in case a guest wants it higher or lower.
This is a sprawling beautiful house that feels like a custom lodge. The interior detailing inside is impressive. The Castle Glen Estates area is peaceful. I particularly liked viewing the lovely pine and aspen trees on the property as well as the bird and chipmunk sightings in the mornings! This house easily absorbs 16 people. Has everything you could ever need for a large family gathering. Martin the manager of the property is very accomodating. The house is close to everything around the lake. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a large group staying in Big Bear. It's just right.

About the host
Hosted by Martin
Southern California resident. Have enjoyed Big Bear for years, especially as a kid. I enjoy the area for skiing, boating, fishing, and hiking, and I enjoy hosting my guests. I come often when the house is rented, to of course work on the house, but also enjoy the fresh alpine air, hikes and friendly community.
Why they chose this property
Big Bear is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle down the hill. Its a world away; yet only 2 hours away. I purchased this home from the builder in 2005. I think the Castle Glen development is high-end, exclusive and offers a lot of privacy. I think you'll enjoy it as well.
What makes this property unique
Its large, big enough for even large groups to feel they have plenty of space. Because of the way its situated against a vast forest in the back, it offers privacy and unobstructed natural views that most properties can't offer.
