About this property

The Barn at Maison Centrale sleeps 4

Part of the group of houses, once a wine owners house in the centre of the village, The Barn has been left as much as it was, with stones wall, bread oven, stone basins and large archway entrance.
Furnished with a mix of old traditional pieces amongst mid century modern items, the house is a unique experience.
With fully equipped kitchen with gaggenau appliances it is great for those who want to cook or not! With 2 double bedrooms, both with ensuite shower rooms, there is ample space for a family of 2 sets of travellers.
The Barn opens up onto a courtyard garden with a private eating area and lots of space to enjoy the sunshine and the shade, and of course the barbecue.
The village has a grocery store, baker, hairdresser, michelin star restaurant and chez bembe, tapas/winebar is at the end of the street.
There are also a few wine producers in the village, with wine tasting and other opportunities to enjoy the local produce.
This unit sleeps 4, we have 2 adjacent houses that sleep 6 and 2, so we can cater for just a few, or an entire group or family!
Close to many natural water features and only about 25 mins to the med the house is well located to enjoy the surrounding areas.
There are also many other activities nearby.

Great stay in lovely converted barn

We had a lovely week at the converted barn, which is one of three gites made out of an old house and barn. Good facilities, nice contrast between modern and rustic decoration, comfortable beds and Andrew and Ian were lovely hosts. Highly recommended

A small piece of heaven

A combination of history and modern…it made for a very special home base while explored the area around Ferrals-les-Corbières. Our hosts shared their knowledge of the town and area which made our stay that much more connected with the local life. Many memories made!

”The Barn” had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. Cozy courtyard perfect for al fresco dining. Our dog appreciated the enclosed courtyard were he could find some shade under the trees. A boulangerie nearby for freshly baked baguettes. Relaxing place were you can recharge your batteries.

Beautiful old village house, very tastefully renovated and furnished with beautiful art and vintage

Above all, much praise for the house and the host!!! Side note: the comfort of both the bed and sofa was a bit disappointing

Ideal Village Location.

A short stay passing through the area. This place stood out from the more traditional places you see available for vacations. The setting is ideal, within the centre of the village, yet with its own private courtyard. Inside it is a mix of old and modern with great features and mid century modern furnishings. The place was spotless, the beds suited my requirements and the kitchen was well equipped for my stay. Luckily the restaurant in town was doing a special meal for €30, including entrecôte, steak brochettes or tuna. I was alone but soon met up with a couple of Brits who told me more about the area. The host and house manager made my stay an easy one and the chilled Rose went down a treat after a day of travelling. Next time I’ll bring friends and family as there is more accommodations available within the courtyard.

Nettes Design, aber nicht alltagstauglich

Sauberkeit, Lage okay. Der Empfang durch den Hausverwalter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Allerdings sind die Betten ein Desaster - nur eine unbequeme Matratze und kein vernünftiges Bettzeug, der Küche fehlt es an notwendigen Utensilien wie z.B. ein Sieb oder eine Salatschleuder sowie an guten Messern. Wir haben den Aufenthalt vorzeitig abgebrochen,

Agradable experiencia

La casa está bastante limpia, es agradable y bien situada para las visitas. Las habitaciones son amplias y los baños bien equipados. El único aspecto a mejorar, en mi opinión serían los 2 colchones de las 2 camas que no nos parecieron buenos. Las almohadas eran demasiado bajas, aunque estaban en buen estado. También quería mencionar el hecho de que cuando ves el anuncio de la casa lees el precio en euros, solo cuando estás haciendo la reserva ves que el cobro es en libras esterlinas, lo que en mi caso supuso una cantidad superior a la inicialmente establecida en la página web.

Besondere Unterkunft

Die geräumige Unterkunft ist, wie in der Beschreibung zu sehen, besonders gestaltet, mit netten Accessoires. Der Freisitz außen ist gemütlich und dank des natürlichen Schattens durch die Bepflanzung sehr behaglich. Die Küchenausstattung war ausreichend. Die Betten im 1.OG fanden wir nicht sehr bequem; ist aber einpersönliches Empfinden. Wir waren 2 Personen und haben das Schlafzimmer im 2. OG nicht genutzt, weil wir die zusätzliche Treppe gescheut haben. Was uns nicht gefallen hat, ist die sehr enge Toilette im 1. OG. Parken konnten wir meist auf einem kostenlosen kleinen öffentlichen Parkplatz, nur wenige Meter von der Unterkunft entfernt. Einen sehr guten Bäcker und ein kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft findet man ebenfalls in nur nur wenigen Metern Entfernung. Die Lage in Ferrals war für uns perfekt. Mit dem Auto kann man in der Umgebung viele touristische Ziele ansteuern. Sehr netter und sehr schnell antwortender Kontakt (wir haben in englisch kommunuziert), bei Bedarf jederzeit hilfsbereit.

Rustic , well equipped, sizeable. Satisfied our requirement for separate bathrooms, for each pair of guests - in fact each pairing had their own floor. The owner was nearby for most of the stay & was charming & helpful. Good value for a high seasonsummer holiday booking.

Maison harmonieuse très agréable malgré la chaleur de cet été. Le rez de chaussé qui est dans une ancienne grange de vigneron garde bien la fraicheur.

Design rétro-moderne

Très belle expérience que celle d'avoir séjourné 5 jours dans ce logement rénové et décoré avec goût par Andrew. Sur 3 niveaux, confort ++ : toilettes et sdb à chaque étages (serviettes, savon). Les équipements sont de qualité, cuisine entièrement équipée. Côté déco, le propriétaire nous fait profiter de ses goûts et connaissances professionnels design retro-moderne. Chaque vision dans ce logement est une scène design ! Petits bémols sur le réseau tél, le wifi et le canapé : présents mais capricieux. Nous reviendrons séjourner avec plaisir. Ce fut une belle parenthèse. Merci Andrew !
