We loved the house and its beautiful landscaping! Great location, quiet, private and super comfortable. Would highly recommend and will absolutely stay here again on our next visit.
We have stayed at this property in the past and keep coming back, as there is plenty of room, it’s clean, remote enough to feel the tranquility but within walking distance to stores and restaurants, and only a short drive from multiple beaches and hikes. Cant recommend it enough!
The location was very convenient (although the road bit challenging) . The hosts (Coleen and Roger) were superb, very responsive and easy to reach. We were very happy with our staying there.
We loved our time at Colleen and Roger's beautiful house! Tons of space, it had everything we needed, and we really appreciated Roger's suggestions for places to go on the island. It was a great location - quiet but still a short drive to everything. Would definitely stay again!
This was a beautiful property on a beautiful island! Colleen and Roger were wonderful hosts, very responsive and helpful. They provided everything we needed. The hot tub was a game changer, and the washer and dryer were much appreciated. The garden and flowers were so beautiful and peaceful. We loved this place!!
This property was a wonderful part of our week long stay on St John. The owners were gracious, helpful, and very quick to reply and help with questions. The property was gorgeous - clean, well cared for, well supplied with the essentials, and had the bonus of a lovely hot tub to soak in at the end of the day. I can't recommend this place highly enough!
Everything was excellent with the only exception being that in the weeks prior to our arrival the island had received historic rain and the unpaved roads up from Coral Bay had suffered some pretty serious washouts and ruts. Not the hosts fault obviously and our RAV4 handled it well enough.
My wife and our 5 month old son along with my sister and their 15 month old daughter had a wonderful time at your property. It is a lovely quiet retreat with a lot of privacy. The place was spotless and came completely as advertised. We really enjoyed the amenities as the kiddos watched Bluey every morning while the adults packed the Jeeps for the beach. We also enjoyed filling the feeder with sugar and watching the Bananaquits swarm and sing. While on the Coral Bay side of the island, it is closer to the North Shore Beaches than most of the areas near Cruz Bay. I would recommend this place to groups of friends or families looking for a quiet getaway in paradise.
We had 3 couples stay in the wonderful garden property. The rooms were all big and comfortable. The hot tub is huge. The outdoor shower was great at night. Everyone in our group enjoyed the house.
The communication with the owners was excellent! The house is in a quiet location. The home is very nicely set up and clean. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We would recommend it and we would stay here again on future trips.
What a wonderful villa, tucked away in the trees, surrounded by beautiful flowers, and abundant wildlife. Very well appointed and beautiful inside and out. Colleen was a wonderful host and full of information about the island as well as all of the plants around the property. Already looking at dates to go back. We highly recommend Travleler Palm Cottage!!
We had a wonderful visit. It was great to come back to a comfortable place after a long day at the beach, The beach chairs were so nice to have for the beach, We all enjoyed the deck with the little lizards that greeted us each day, our beds were very comfortable we slept well rested and ready to go the next day,
This lovely property has an inviting garden setting a short distance from the Coral Bay village. A great spot for a relaxing and fun time on St. John. The owners were very helpful and responsive during our stay. We hope to be back soon!
Beautiful, spacious home with a gracious host. Although within a walking distance to Coral Bay stores and restaurants, the house has a great feel of seclusion and privacy. We have greatly enjoyed our stay and the homeowner was very accommodating from the very beginning . We would definitely recommend this property for your stay in St. John.

About the host
Hosted by Colleen Brooker
Colleen was born in South Jersey and raised in Vermont. Roger was born and raised in Trinidad. He fell in love with sailing and one day sailed to St John with friends. We both loved traveling. We met on a little Vitran bus on St John. Roger took me sailing around ST john and the BVI on his 39' sailboat "Storyteller". We were married on St John and our first baby was born in Coral Bay, We moved to Calais Vermont in 2005 when we had our second baby. We bought a project and fixed it up. We missed the VI and moved back in 2008. We moved onto our 50' sailboat "Storyteller". We got to sail down island with our boys to Trinidad. We moved ashore in 2013 and began finishing the house. We hope you enjoy our house!!
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this house, even as it was, an unfinished project. We saw so much potential. Colleen lived in this neighborhood when she was traveling through in her twenties and fell in love with it then. Tucked away and quiet but yet close to Coral Bay. One of the only large plants it had was a big Travelers Palm in front. The flat protected land was perfect for gardening. We loved the fact the land already had mango trees and Soursop trees bearing fruit. We finished the house with the new design in 2017. We designed the upstairs bedroom with the help of an architect. It was inspired by the book "Caribbean Style". Roger was here for Hurricane Irma. He stayed in the house with good friends.
What makes this property unique
We are off the beaten path a little but close to everything. The peaceful location is on a dirt road, yet walking distance to Coral Bay and the harbor. Surrounded by trees with lots of birds. There is a nice cooling breeze through the valley. We grew lots of fruit trees on our little 1/2 acre. There are mango trees! We planted a lot of coconut trees. The new deck is lovely. The grill is out there too....great place to barbeque. We added the hot tub last year. After a day of hiking or at the beach it is so relaxing to sit in there.
