About this space
Five minutes from the park entrance, we have curated spaces where you can relax, enjoy and explore Joshua Tree’s magic. Casa Pueblo is a creative spot filled with Joshua Trees, a cactus garden, and good vibes. There are hammocks in the shade, a hot tub as well as a swinging chair in front. Exhibited artwork we created as well as art we have curated over the years. Read the reviews: Come enjoy our newly tiled spa area with lots of green and privacy for enjoying your stay.
The Space
When you walk through the newly created infinity portal door you see the living room has high ceilings and a very light, white and airy feel. It is even lighter now with new light grey tile floors (some old photos still have the replaced carpet). We like creating options for your own vibe, hence there are adjustable color LED lights throughout the home that can be changed with remote controls (we default to a warm white, leaving the creativity up to you). Usually, we leave the curtains open during the day as the views are lush and inspiring, lots of trees and green during the summer which of course means shade!
The backyard is huge and has a wooden privacy fence. Outdoors there are five distinct areas:
• A private hot tub spa and barbecue area with modern black and white tiles and artificial grass with easy access to the house.
• A private area on the side with lounge chairs with views of the mountains in the distance and a wall of green with bushes and views of our two murals by female Los Angeles artists ( @muckrock and @carlyveronica on IG ).
• A cozy and private daybed for chilling in the afternoon shade or stargazing at night, great views of the stars out here, you might even fall asleep if it's a particularly quiet and dark night.
• Two comfy hammocks under a huge shade tree in the back.
• The front yard presents our new cactus garden centered by a huge Joshua Tree. There is a blue and yellow mosaic table with four chairs as well as an outdoor couch. Good for breakfast or afternoon coffee as well as viewing the other Joshua Trees out front. There is a swinging chair in the shade, too. At night we have subtle lights, to allow for the stars to shine brighter.
The front facing bedroom has great views of the Joshua Tree while lying in the bed and if you are working remotely picturesque views from the desk out the window as well as a mirrored closet door.
The master bedroom has its own bathroom and a bay window with a table/ desk in it with views of the trees out back and views of the mountains in the distance.
The beds are super comfortable.
If you need to work remotely we have 500 Mbs Up/Down internet connection and very good cell phone coverage for all carriers (not all places have this).
We have also have a 50" TV with Roku, you can use your own logins to have your favorite entertainment services at Casa Pueblo, don't forget to logout when you leave, as well as some games for children. To turn it on there's a button on the right side of the TV and then use the ROKU remote to watch / login.
We are a creative family who are living out in the desert who spent several years living here upgrading it with our design and creative aesthetic. We love hosting and to travel for the connections created, and the memories made. Before the pandemic we would have people stay with us in the house which we loved the personal connections.
Some of the larger pieces were created by me, Travis, while traveling to Argentina a few years back. We also have some new mural additions in the back by Los Angeles artists @muckrock and @carlyveronica In the front we have some doves by @lahopedealer
We usually have two day minimum bookings, but feel free to inquire for a one night booking if you see space in between booked dates. Permit number: CESTRP-2021-01273
Guest access
You will have access to the front, the side, the back of the house, the hot tub and two bedrooms and two baths.
There is a storage container and a room you won't have access to. We will not be on the property when you are staying here. On Tuesdays generally, the hot tub cleaner comes sometime between 9 and 5 and you will not be able to use the hot tub for an hour and a half after he leaves for the chemistry to settle.
Other things to note:
It's generally easiest to back out of the driveway and park in front of the wooden gate.
We just updated the spa with tiles. Please be careful getting in and out of the hot tub there is a mat where it’s best to let the water fall as tiles can get slippery. Use the spa at your own risk. Slippery when wet.
Outdoor Security Cameras / Audio Monitoring Devices
For the safety and security of guests and the property, exterior security cameras are installed at designated access points. Ring cameras are in the front driveway, the front doorbell and the front opposite side of the house. There are no video cameras or in the back yard or near the spa.
A Minut noise monitor is in the back as required by the county of San Bernadino. There are large fines from the county for parking on the street by guests or noise violations especially from 10:00pm to 7:00am. Guests will be responsible for any citations by San Bernadino County.
There are no cameras or recording devices inside the home. Cameras do not monitor private indoor spaces or the back yard.
