A HISTORIC RESIDENCE

Amid an abundance of restaurants, cafés, bars and markets, you'll be able to have a comfortable home! This is the 3rd floor of a building constructed shortly after the San Francisco earthquake and fires of 1906.

The front room has a queen bed with a beautiful red antique bed frame and other vintage pieces.

This is a hosted rental meaning that I live here in the home.

There are 2 other guest rooms available:
* The middle room has a queen bed with a gold and grey antique bed frame.

At the end of the hall is a sun-filled kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a gas range and oven, fridge, and various kitchen tools to make home-cooked meals. Coffee, cream, eggs, butter, fruit, oatmeal, maple syrup, bread, milk, and other cooking supplies are available for guests. Breakfast is self-made. I do not prepare breakfasts for guests. The bright dining area is a wonderful place to enjoy drinks or meals. I custom made the dining table and other furniture. There is seating for 8. Feel free to just use the dining table as a desk/work space.

My house shares one vanity/sink room and one bathroom (with toilet and shower). Walk through the kitchen to the sink room which, has a sink, vanity area, various supplies, and windows to the ceiling, various supplies. Through another door is the bathroom with a toilet and shower/bath. Having these two separate spaces makes it possible for one person to be using the toilet or shower in the bathroom while another person may brush their teeth in the sink room.

I provide a make-up mirror with a light, blow dryer, cotton balls, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, earplugs, band-aids, sunscreen, and a few feminine products in case of emergency.

The house doesn't include a washer or dryer, but there's a laundromat a half block away and laundry supplies are provided.

Abundant Parking Options:
There is free street parking in the neighborhood. Most of it has a 2 hour limit between 8am Monday - 9pm Saturday. So, you can park for free in a spot from 7pm in the evening to 10am in the morning before you have to move. Since the time limit doesn't apply on Sunday, you can leave it from 7pm Saturday night to 10am Monday morning for free.

There are also parking meters in the streets immediately around the house. They are enforced Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. So you can park for free from 6pm to 9am and all day on Sunday. After that, it's around $2.25 per hour which you can pay at the meter with change or a credit card, or from your smartphone with an app called PayByPhone. You can even pay in advance for the first 2 hours of parking in the morning the night before by using the app.

With any street parking or meter parking, *please* be sure to read the *signs* and the *parking meter* itself for any limitations such as street cleaning hours.

There is a parking lot right in front of the house. It costs $15 for each 12 hours. If you use the car during the day then you could just pay $15 for the night. Or you can park in the lot during the day for $15 and park on the street for free at night if you want to.

You can also park in a number of nearby parking garages. There are 2 parking garages a half block away on Vallejo. The Vallejo Garage charges $3-4 per hour. The North Beach Garage charges $4-5 per hour. They have an "Early Bird Special" where Monday through Friday, if you enter between 4:30am to 9am then exit before 10pm, the Vallejo Garage charges $18 and the North Beach Garage charges $20. They both charge $36 for 24 hours. So you could park in the garage during the day then park on the street for free and save $16-$18. They are open 24 hours a day.
The North Beach Garage 735 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133
Vallejo Street Garage 766 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133

There is a parking lot across the street at 626 Green Street which charges $11 until 7pm.

The Powell Street Parking garage is usually $12 for a weekday from morning to about 6pm. The price goes up in evenings and weekends, however as stated earlier you can park for free in the evenings on the street. They close between 10pm and 2am depending on the day. So you could switch off between the garage during the day and street at night and save money if you wanted to.

Great place, location, host

Central to North Beach and Chinatown and a 20 minute walk to the Embarcadero, this lovely, clean and comfortable property has something even more enjoyable than its unique character: its hosts. Kind, attentive, informative, and a pleasure to talk to, but aware and respectful of their guests’ needs and itinerary. Right at the top of my VRBO stays over the years. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay for a conference!

This property has an extremely comfortable bed and is 50 yards away from a bus stop that can take you almost everywhere in San Fran. I was attending a conference at the Mascone and only needed a place to sleep and shower and this property fit the bill. Knowing what was included made my stay amazing. An extra bonus was that Sara spent time recommending local venues for dining and entertainment. I was treated like a member of the family and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Complimentary toiletries and snacks were offered in case I needed them. I do need to point out that if you are expecting a "hotel" type experience, this may not be the best place to stay. Although I enjoyed not having a TV or phone in the room, I can see where this could be an issue for some. All of this said, this was the best VRBO experience I have had. Sara was kind, informative and welcoming. I hope that she will have availability next year when I come back to San Fran.

Top location! Fun and fully flexible hosts! Great local knowledge! Beautiful and creative space!

I cannot express how much I appreciate the opportunity to leave this review on VRBO. This was our 3rd stay with Sara at this location. My husband and I both love everything about this space. The hospitality, location, high energy, authentic local connection, squeals of joy, and cleanliness make it hard to leave. We live in the South Bay and love basing ourselves here for our San Francisco "big city" jaunts. Location is at the border of Chinatown and Little Italy, so just about everything we could possibly need is within easy walking distance. In all my travels, I have never had such thoughtful, welcoming, and caring hosts. The attention to detail is inspirational. This home is Sara and Aaron's artistic expression. Their beautiful woodwork is all over the flat and is always a constant work in progress. So fun! If stuck creatively or just in general, there is so much stillness, simplicity, and perspective to be gained here in order to center, or re-center. This little hidden gem feels as though it is at the eye of the tornado -- the vibrant, exciting, and explosive San Francisco. I could not run out of great things to say about this listing!

If I could give 10 stars for Host Sara I would!!

We couldn’t have had a better host to introduce us to San Francisco than Sara. The location of her place is perfect to walk around to the major attractions & great eating establishments of the city. We did not need a car at all during our stay. It was my husband’s birthday the day we arrived and I am so grateful for how special she made it for us with all the pre-arrival arrangements. Her home was so warm & inviting and it was like having special friends welcoming you to a place you’ve never been before and helping you navigate in the best ways possible. Thank you again Sara and Aaron for opening your home to us!! What great memories Mark & I made!!

Best feel for San Francisco ever!!!

Staying here was totally a 5 star experience!!! The neighborhood was fabulous. I couldn't have picked a better location. I was right in the middle of the best parts of the city to experience as a visitor. Russian Hill, North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, wow! I was totally taken care of Sara. I experienced delays at airports but she greeted me at the door with a smile at 1 AM. Her home was a beautiful Victorian that was decorated to reflect the same era... Charming!!! When I woke up in the morning, I was greeted by Sara with a delicious home-pressed cup of SF coffee. A week before I arrived in SF, she sent me a comprehensive list of recommended things to do in all the different neighborhoods of the City! She was the perfect host, depicting the best of SF! Creative, warm, sharing, yet respectful of my privacy. She made me feel at home. I will definitely return!!!

A place to lay our heads after busy days at the Convention Center!

It was a little scary finding the place as we arrived via Uber at almost midnight. The neighborhood was unfamiliar but Sara gave very detailed directions on how to get in to the property ... she stayed in communication with us as we arrived to the airport and found our way.

In the heart of the city

Not only a great location, but easy to get around. The hosts were wonderful in giving us directions and suggestions as well. Just be careful of parking on near by streets as I got a ticket because I didn’t move my car for the morning cleaning. Make sure to read any nearby parking and street signs!! Even though there is only one bathroom, it worked out. Would recommend this VRBO. Have fun in the city🤗

Amazing!!!!!

We can't say enough good things about Sara and her home! She was warm, welcoming, kind, generous, helpful, knowledgeable, super fun....this list can go on forever! Sara has tons of helpful hints about the area, was incredibly flexible and helpful with our travel needs (storing a bicycle among other things!) and was an all around wonderful person! We don't often travel to the same area twice, but if we were to ever return to San Francisco we would undoubtedly stay with her again!!!! =)

Amazing find! Sarah was wonderful - very thorough communication, very kind, so generous! I was a little worried about there only being 1 bathroom, but it was never a problem in the least. The location was perfect - we were able to walk down to the pier and there’s a parking lot right in front of the building. I highly recommend staying here!!

Convenient alley

This was my first time in San Francisco so my husband wanted it to be special . Staying here at this location made it just that . Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by lovely Sarah, the property manager. She was so helpful with our questions of local places to dine & visit . This location is great too , if you’re wanting to walk to grab a bite and do some sightseeing . It’s literally a step out your front door. This place has a nice history and if you’re searching for whimsical and quaint , this would be it !

Sara is the best host imaginable. Very considerate, thoughtful and supportive in any way possible. This was the best stay of my entire California trip. The Location is excellent and in walking distance from Little Italy, Chinatown, Coit Tower, Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, etc. The property is clean, very well managed. I was so welcomed and appreciated and I felt like back in college having great roommates. The other guests were awesome. We were like family. Sara had a very large array of food available for breakfast for various preferences and diets. I truly appreciate Sara and Aaron very much.
