About this property
Welcome to Magnolia’s!!!
We invite you to come enjoy our family home. It’s been in our family for over 50 years. Originally belonging to Keith Russell, owner of the restaurant Rudy’s Place at the bottom of the hill. A native Bahamian, our family coming to the Abacos during the Revolutionary War.
Interior was completely renovated with completion in late 2017. We put a new roof on in March of 2019. King bed in the master with ensuite bath, queen bed with Jack and Jill full bath, also an extra sleeping loft with full sized bed, up our ship stairs off the main living room.
The house has cable, WiFi, local phone, and whole house automatic generator.
Chef’s kitchen boasting a large sink, an additional island prep sink, gas cooktop topped with plantation teak countertops. Fully equipped with stainless and nonstick cookware. Keurig and toaster are hidden away in appliance garage to the right of the sink, keeping the countertops clear. The island seats 6+, we often have 10 or more for family gatherings. Kitchen is an open concept to the living area. Also opening to an Eastern 14’ door to the deck as well as a 6’ door to the outdoor kitchen.
32” TVs in both bedrooms, with a 55” TV in the living alcove off the kitchen. Not currently depicted. There are Bose outdoor speakers available via Bluetooth.
Almost 800 feet of deck space has been added to the home. Also not depicted is an outdoor kitchen with grill, sink, and seating. Parking for plenty of golf carts.
We simply truest enjoy our home but homes are meant to be shared and we look forward to sharing ours with you and the memories you’ll make there.

About the host
Hosted by Phillip Russell
I’m Jess and my husband Phillip inherited his uncle’s home in 2016. I’m from Florida but he and his family are originally from the Bahamas, since the Revolutionary War. Phillip is Hope Town born and raised. We have a two year old, Magnolia, who loves to get back to Hopetown to see her grandparents and cousins. We have a lot of family still on the island, all the better excuse to get back to visit. We are both pilots for major airlines in the US.
What makes this property unique
Close to everything but out of the settlement for privacy. Great house to get away from it all or have everyone come together. We built the house with the plans of having lots of friends and family over. Minus some serious stairs to the the loft it’s very family friendly. That said our two year old can’t get enough of playing in the loft, supervised of course. Also the coldest sleep in the house. Also taking advantage of our Eastern exposure we added a large deck that’s shaded by the afternoon with a great outdoor cooking/entertaining space. Walking distance to dockage as well.
