Gila Valley Cottage

The stay was great! I had to clean the glass stovetop to before I cooked. It was not cleaned to my satisfaction.

Great location for birding

Our group toured the Gila Valley looking for birds. The location was great and the property was clean and spacious. Close to Gila Box NCRA, Roper Lake State Park, and the Thacher sewer ponds (great number of ducks and raptors).

Pleasant Stay

Great host and perfect location for our needs. We were six adults and had plenty of space and hot water for showers. The host is very communicative. There is a rooster behind the property that crows every morning, but that did not bother us as we needed to be out the door before dawn each day.

The property worked perfectly for my family and I. Had a better supply of cooking items than other rentals I've used. Could of used a larger coffeemaker, and a blender, but was not at all a deal breaker. The chicken breeder was a little more than just a farmer with a rooster, but again isn't that country living?🤣

Substandard

First night of arrival. I could barely get my vehicle through the almost blocked driveway. Notified the contact for the rental. Told they would mention to the occupants. Once inside I discovered it was not thoroughly cleaned from the previous renters. Fridge was dirty on the inside, stuff underneath the bed, the mat in the bathtub/bath towels smelled of mildew to toothpaste splatter marks on the faucet. If you are wanting to sleep in. You can forget about it. Unless you brought ear plugs! The roosters will provide a 4:45 a.m wake up call. Upon my arrival the 2nd night the driveway was completely blocked. Since I (female) travel throughout the U.S. I have a portable security cam. Which captured someone snooping around in the house during the day while I was away. No forewarning, nor anywhere within the list of check in details states such an act would occur. Highly disappointed to where I decided to checkout a day earlier than scheduled.

Dirtiest VRBO I've ever stayed in

Upon arrival I immediately noticed how dirty the coffee maker was and that the filter from last use had not been removed, carafe was brown. Dish towel looked dirty. Dirt and grime throughout the house, floors, counter tops, cabinet faces and drawers, refrigerator, spots on faucets, dirty tub shower unit. Nasty carpet stains on bedroom carpet. Silk plants grey with dust as was every surface in the house. We spent the first evening and part of the second day cleaning the house. We were thankful there were cleaning supplies we could access. Dirtiness gave us a uneasy feeling about everything. We washed the comforters and towels that we wanted to use. There was no hair dryer. Refrigerator was dirty mess as well. Our worst VRBO experience. I didn't want to reach out to local contact after reading the 12/15/2024 review that someone had come into the house unannounced. It's a shame because this place has a nice layout, good water pressure, A/C and heat, washer and dryer. If they're paying someone to clean it is not being done. Needs thorough cleaning of baseboards, window sills, silk plants. Probably clean enough for next guest since we cleaned. It made me wonder if the reviews with good ratings were fabricated.

Unwanted 2:30 AM wake up call

There were so many flys in the unit when first entering. The back door and all the windows were unlocked. The a/c stopped working half way through the stay. The master bed is obnoxiously squeaky. It was 2:30 AM of our first night we found out that the neighbors (that the master window faces) have multiple roosters.

Excellent location so long as cleanliness isn't important

I was thoroughly disappointed with the cleanliness of this house. The pictures in the listing were obviously filtered and staged because I didn't recognize what I paid for verses what I ended up with.

Cannot beat the price for the stay

Property was clean, with the exception of fruit rotting in fridge, and minor ant issue. Did have issues with driveway being blocked almost every night and morning (rental located behind another house). Property manager info was not up to date.
