The property is very quaint, clean and comfortable. Nice porch. Would stay there again. The only negative were golf course was closed due damage from last years storm which wasn’t mentioned in the listing and the view is a little questionable

Ski Trip

We had a pleasant guys ski trip to sugar and beech mountain for the weekend. Great location for the VRBO as it was right next to sugar mountain. The home was very clean and we had clear communication with the host. Would definitely come again!

The home was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The view out the back windows was beautiful. It was cloudy both mornings, otherwise we could have seen the sunrise.

Nice place but out dated

The place is as advertised and was pretty clean. Needs to be updated as the furniture is a bit worn and carpet is old. Everything worked fine and it’s super close to the ski mountain. I’d stay here again for sure.

Price reflects quality

This was a disappointing stay. Mainly due to the cleanliness of the unit. No hot water, no internet.

Such a cozy, peaceful place! Closest location that you can get really to the slopes of Sugar Mountain!! I even walked from the slopes through the woods with a cute little bridge! The condo was set up with everything needed to hang out and cook which we prefer! Very Clean!! All amenities included such as NETFLIX and hundreds of channels, Fireplace that is wonderful, and every kitchen utensil imaginable!! We will be back!!! Thank you!

The property stated that there was a view of the golf course and there was not all you could see was trees. The whole condo had a musky mildew smell. When we stood on the carpet in the dining room fleas jumped on our feet and ankles and we have bites documented from the fleas in the unit. We were told there was an air conditioner, but on the listing, it said no AC. We called and were told that there was not an AC which we were were initially told that there was. Upon arriving, we found that there was a portable AC unit. The listing should be updated to state that there’s a portable air conditioner, there is no view of the golf course, and that the whole condo has been fumigated to get rid of the fleas. we are expecting some sort of refund for the mold and mildew odor and for the flea bites. For a unit that says no pets allowed that is insane. However, there are pictures in the unit of animals so we’re sure the owners have pets.

Pros and Cons

The house is as you see, dated for sure. Has very creaky floors, missing molding, cobwebs is several rooms, bathroom door had splatter of something all over it. There is a loud banging noise that occurs, we could never be 100% sure but it could have been the gas line for the fireplace. It sounds like someone was trying to break in through the wall. There was no pattern to the noise. One morning between 3-8 am, I heard it 11 times. Sometimes we would go a day without hearing it. Maintenance was unresponsive on this issue. The location is perfect! Walking distance to skiing, the main reason to choose this unit. Checking it was a nightmare. After driving 10 hours, we were not able to get into the unit until 4 hours after check in. Sat in the car in the freezing cold the entire time, waited over an hour on hold for the management team to get answers (the unit had never gotten cleaned from the previous guests). We bought groceries on the way in so they did reimburse us for the spoiled food but getting the mangement company to follow through on that offer took many phone calls. Had WiFi issues, which also meant no TV, that took several days to resolve, they did reimburse us for that after we returned home. In summary, the house is old, but you can see that and know what you are getting into. The management company is a nightmare (full disclosure, they did reimburse us for some of the issues experienced) and very difficult to get a hold of.

Great Location

Location very close to Sugar Mountain Resort. It was clean, and had everything we needed. It is a time capsule, felt like we were staying at Grandma's house.

Vacasa has the best, most efficient, prompt maintenance team we have seen and do excellent work and are courteous, The 2 BR unit is in a good, old, location but no one can see a yard of the golf course due to dense foliage. It is a good unit if you are very short. If tall it is not. Commodes are very low to floor and furniture other than dining table and master bed is very low to the ground. Floors move and squeak, master TV is tiny, showers are hard to enter, no lights under cook top to see controls, no exhaust for oven or cook top heat to escape. Sun shines in den when drinking morning coffee because no window treatments on double sliding doors. Carpet outdated, closet doors hard to open. If you are very short it's fine. If tall, think twice. Vacasa is a good company.

Great unit and amazing location

We stayed at this unit for 5 days in March 2021 during a ski trip. The location is amazing and you can take a short walk to the slopes or a 2 minute car ride. There is also a shuttle that takes you to Sugar Mountain. The unit has everything you could ask for. It was clean and stocked with plenty of towels and kitchen supplies, even laundry detergent. We couldnt figure out the fire place and contacted Vacasa and a maintenance person came over in less than an hour. We also locked our key inside the house and they were very helpful. The unit has heat and AC that works great as well as extra space heaters. A balcony overlooking the golf course. The cozy fire place was a nice. Plenty of closet space and a mudroom for shoes and winter clothes. We would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful time in Sugar Mountain.

Enjoyable Family Stay

Larger unit with a very homey feel. Beautiful area with safe places to walk and close to conveniences. Enjoyed lunch on the golf course and chair lift ride to the top of Sugar for hiking. If the mattresses were replaced and it would be the perfect vacation spot.

Sugar mountain staycation

Country style condo, perfect for a few friends or a small family! Very close to the golf course and within walking distance to the base of sugar mountain. The condo was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice getaway to the mountain or summer activities. That water pressure on those shower heads were out of this world too...just another plus if you’re young but think you’re “getting old” like myself.
